Re: Next NBA 2K17 Patch to fix roster update issue, Pro-AM & More
Wow Dirk i think you won
Whoa. What did I cause?
For those who've paid careful attention to what I've wrote (not that anyone should), Im rarely disagreeing with you. I've seen the bugs you have. Just not as often. What I have done is discuss the plentiful improvements about this game which are always overlooked at this time.
Im sharing what Ive seen, and I don't have this entirely negative view of the game. That seems to have attracted people's ire, which puzzles me. I think if you don't have that confirmation bias, you will not looking for every little negative. Ill be watching the Mavs game in 45 minutes and I promise you I will see some dumb things.
This notion that people who have positive 2K experiences are fanboys is rubbish. The notion that people who have positive 2K experiences arent sim heads is rubbish. I watch 2-3 full games on my ILP every night. Don't believe me? Cool, why would I care about convincing you? I was the first to video catalogue how the physicality hurts the running of some plays. I told OG how the CPU doubles off good shooters one pass away too often.
What I have objected to is hyperbolic statements like "This game is broken", or "The devs are lazy" or "This is NA Jam".
In regards to sliders, Ive posted numerous times. I don't believe there is a magic roster set or slider file. It's entirely dependent on the individual. I stopped using others' years ago. Here's a few general tips. And keep in mind Im not scientific about this and not everything works for everyone. And as I keep saying, I play exclusively ML.
Ive lowered CPU on ball D and the body up sensitivity sliders right down. This opens the game up. Ive boosted the CPU attack the basket slider. Ive increased their dunk tendency and contest shot tendency. Ive bumped up the CPU def and off awareness and consistency. I started editing my slider set from HOF so I get the full benefits of ACE. Benefits which I've posted numerous times, but people seem to ignore or dismiss. The rest are fairly standard.
In terms of my roster it's been edited in game mode so I can't export it. I focused on a few things. I lowered the close shot tendency of heaps of players so you don't see those stupid 7 foot jumpers. I lowered the pull up tendency for slow teams so I see big differences in pace. Ive posted screenies as evidence. I boosted the oop pass tendency of most PG's to create that weapon. I edited lots of players play types to get them playing the way I want. I made lots of individual edits. There was no golden rule, a few players were given tendencies to do too many things. e.g. nonshooting bigs with eurosteps and pull up tendencies etc.
Ive got the game playing the way I want. Is it perfect? Hell no. Is it a fun sim experience? Hell yes. For me, it is. For you, maybe/maybe not. I put heaps of vids on my channel to show how smooth the gameplay can be. There's heaps more I can put on, but don't have the time.
And to the posters being very snarky towards anyone who is enjoying the game. Who would you rather be? The simheads enjoying their NBA game, or the ones being frustrated by it?
Now, it's time to go and see how many ways my IRL Mavs can find to leave Lillard and McCollum wide open.
