Re: Are you buying 2k18 at launch?
If I wasn't a PNO player, I swear I would purchase the game, and the play the game in offline mode until THE patch that addresses most of the problems is dropped. I swear that's two years in a row where the game felt perfect out of the box.I won't. I still haven't bought 2K17 yet until everything is sorted out. I love(d) 2K basketball but getting a little tired of needing 47 patches before the game feels "right". Its hard because when everyone gets the game "its the best game" ever - if you can ignore those things, you have a chance at not purchasing the game at release. I've barely visited this forum for that very reason.Comment

Re: Are you buying 2k18 at launch?
I will, for the odd reason that the game actually plays better at launch, then with patches the game plays worse. I actually liked 2k16 before the patches. With 2k17 I've been playing every other game but this. Madden, wwe, return to arkham, batman taletell games. Hopefully, this patch makes me play 2k again.Comment

Re: Are you buying 2k18 at launch?
I'm playing Battlefield 1, works fine. Meanwhile, Walk on Pro-Am frequently blue screens my PS4 at the end of games, doesn't always count wins, uses my boosts even if the other team quits in the first 1 second of the game, gives me losses if I get blue screened. I could go on.
This is why I don't buy 2k anymore, and haven't since 2k14. Don't get me wrong, other people buy it and share it with me and I play it, but I definitely don't buy it from them anymore.
This year was the first year I actually spent money on the game, buying VC, because it felt really nice out of the box. And what happens? Pro-Am crash deletes myplayer. NBD, 2k restores players! Except they only restore upgrades and don't refund VC for any animations or cosmetics you lose.
There are dunks that cost 3.5k VC, dribble moves that cost 1k VC, shots that cost 3k, etc. The VC i bought and spent was basically for those things, I got my upgrades through the regular playing of the game, and I didn't get any of my spent VC back. Probably 100k or so worth of stuff from the 2k shop just gone, forever. It's not like I just bought the one dunk package I was going to use; I bought bunches of them and tested them all.
Every year this game isn't what it should be, which sucks for people who liked games like 2k11. After 2k12 I took a break when they obviously weren't listening to players and came back in 2k14, which is where I decided they didn't deserve my money anymore. It's crazy that they under deliver every year and people are just ok with it and throw money at them.Comment

Probably not unless the MyCareer is based solely on your player and you can actually make decisions for yourself that can take the mode into different directions. I also want them to fix the body types on some of the players.twitter.com/Laneyville

Re: Are you buying 2k18 at launch?
Probably. It depends on what they add/take away from the game.I can adapt to new gameplay, but if the modes and features are lacking i have no reason to buy.I really want tattoos back in create a player though. It helps distinguish players when creating a custom player.Comment

Re: Are you buying 2k18 at launch?
Its tough to say. Being a basketball fiend, you really have no choice. But also being a 2k vet, you wanna say no. This game wasn't finished at release, and the 5 patches before December prove that.
And I dont blame the dev team for that at all, I blame the higher ups. The marketing department is so adamant on pushing this "Preorderers get the game early" shindig that the dev team is rushing to get this unfinished product on shelves. Which leads to the situation we have now.
Patch 5 2k has played phenomenally for me, and I feel like this version of the game is the game that this dev team is capable of releasing on a reasonable timeframe.
That being said, answer the original question: Probably.Sixers/Panthers/Tarheels
