i got it when i drove in and pressed R2 and up on the right stick into a defender. Didn't even get a dunk animation but got posterizer.

That's how a lot of people got it. It's weird. You don't even have to get a dunk period, yet alone a contact dunk lol.

Bronze posterizer isn't worth it anyway tbh. Nothing to be upset about.

This is not the case. Bronze posterizer allows you to get the poster animations at a much higher rate. You can see the numbers at the NBA 2k Lab website.

It's because your intent was to dunk, but you didn't have the stats to pull it off, and so the contact dunk attempt was changed to something else

half my contact dunk attempts on my slasher get turned into layups of some sort or floaters etc

This is not the case. Bronze posterizer allows you to get the poster animations at a much higher rate. You can see the numbers at the NBA 2k Lab website.

Not when you don't even have high enough Dunk rating to buy and equip contact dunk packages, like Playmaker PG's don't have, which is what this entire thread is about.

Yeah. Just because you get bronze posterizer doesn't mean you're gonna turn into Vince Carter and start jumping over guys. You still won't have any contact dunk packages as a point guard. Not possible. Even with it my 6'9 point forward gets blocked quite a bit by 6'0-6'2 pg's on 2 hand dunks inside. I really question how much it's really worth to be quite frank. It's just a meh badge.

My PF LDD got the badge quite easily, as all he does is cut into the lane and call for the ball, pump fake, dunk under the rim with defenders around him

I think it might give you more dunk animations inside, but not contact dunks. I think it would help big guys or people with high standing dunk inside more than anyone else. So if you're a playmaker it's not going to help you a ton. You're still going to get swatted at a high rate if there are big guys inside.

Read the post that I quoted, in which he said it "allows you to get the poster animations at a much higher rate" which is not true in the case of a Playmaker PG who can't even equip the contact dunk packages required to get the poster animations to begin with.

IMO it does more than that, it allows you to land dunks when defended, so you don't get blocked, fub the dunk, or get pushed to the ground trying etc

I unlocked this badge on my 6ft6 Playmaker PG Dec 12, 2016

I was grinding for Bruiser and was doing a lot of post ups. I was posting up on the high block and got stripped and immediately thereafter in the strip animation: the posterizer badge unlocked.

Now I see the badge activate on certain dunks that don't even make contact with the defender but I don't seem to suddenly have access to posterizer defenders like a Slasher. I'll often get the missed rim Blake Griffin dunk animation when I attempt to posterize or I'll simply get stripped during my gather in an auto animation sequence.

I find that my 6'2 playmaker without posterizer can get some crazy dunks in traffic and has good explosion, but would having posterizer help lower the chances that you get blocked by a defender that is several steps behind? I mean this honestly because I really wonder if the game takes this into calculation. I have noticed that slashers and athletic finishers don't get stuffed as easily, but maybe I'm delusional about that or don't have a good enough sample size.

I've grinded the hell out of this guy, and don't have posterizer yet, but I haven't really tried getting it as the other badges were more important to farm. Just wondering if it's worth my time.
