Is there a problem with Normalize sim stats?

So I'm pretty new to NBA 2K games... I started up a MyLeague and jumped into current day. Played a game with normalize minutes and stats on. The score after it adjusted is showing as 131-108 on the schedule page, but if I look at the box score the points add up to 116 and 141. I played 8 Min quarters with 12 minute sim quarter length.

Did I have a setting wrong??

You're playing 8 min quarters, so the game will adjust your stats to as if you were playing 12 minute quarters.

I know. But shouldn't the points be the same in the box score and on the schedule? There was a 10 point difference.

I think thats so the final score can reflect the stats, like stats saying for example, 45 shots hit, all 2 pointers, but final score saying 60. The stats would say 90 points were scored when in reality you actually scored 60. I think they adjust score to match stats to avoid confusion.
