Is there a solution to this terrible pick and roll action?

This man will never roll. Sometimes he decides to flip the pick with no input for me. He never takes advantage of an open lane.

Am I doing something wrong? Do I need to initiate quicker? Even if it's because this players offensive awareness or IQ is low.....it's a PnR.

It happens with a lot of players recently in the past month. Did a recent update make the pick and roll less effective?

You're pressing the right trigger (r2) too early.

In the clips provided, your input is telling the guy setting the pick to switch sides. (If you watch closely you can see the white bar moving left to right). You're also taking off before the player has initiated physical contact with the defender.

Wait to see the actual animation from the physical interaction before you expect to see the pick player roll.

I only tapped R2 to flip him in the last clip. The player is flipping the pick on his own volition the other times.

I will try to delay my pg movement a second or two and see if what happens when I play tonight.

Regardless, in the last one, my PF had a clear lane to the hoop and just stood at the 3 point line after the pick. I don't know what to blame for that.

I still think you're trying to "sprint" way too early and the AI is taking the input as the command for the player flipping the pick.

Make sure you let go of L1

Stop holding the button to call for pick.

                Eureka!

This is most definitely what I've been doing. Thank you soooo much for pointing it out.
