Re: How would you build your perfect NBA 2K?

Shooting: 2K16's shooting. I used to hate automatic green but they implemented it pretty well the past 2 years, so I don't mind it.

Defense: NBA 2K16 had the best user on-ball defense in any 2K game I've played. It was legitimately fun to put the clamps on people. As far as the CPU I like the simplicity of blowing by them this year in 2K18, and I'm glad they got rid of the psychic defense nonsense. 2K14 last-gen's CPU awareness and paint defense was the best imo. So a mix of all three.

Passing: This year is the best. I like the multitude of options.

Dribbling: 2K16's because of I just prefer the 4 sizeup animations you had but 17's was fine too. 2K18's dribbling seems a bit weird as far as far as the way the players animate.

Presentation: This year's fine I guess. Presentation doesn't matter to that much.

Player Movement: A mix between 2K14 last-gen and this year.

MyCareer: 2K13. The freedom to have your 99 overall with no restrictions will always be the best to me.

Online: For PNO, give me 2K14 last-gen with the ability to pick teams. For MyTeam, 2K17 easily.

      My Perfect NBA 2K:

      - SIMPLE: Reward Open Shots / Punish Contested Shots (idc if you have HOF HOF HOF Gold star super turbo "limitless range" badge).

      - Footplanting Footplanting Footplanting on Defense. Every year 2K promises the same thing, every year it doesn't 100% FEEL like it. Idc if that's input lag or what, but either way.

      - Get rid of the silent but deadly intentional foul/dbl team button Glitch. I've tested this, it exists, it's not 100% effective, but still happens. Others have vouched for it, or admitted they use it. It's hard to detect without first-hand experience testing it in online multiplayer. The glitch is press intentional foul button away from the ball, (WHEN TIMED RIGHT) this causes a (very unrealistic) surge in defensive awareness, tenacity, and effectiveness on passes and shots.

Private MatchMaking for Pro Am Mode

Get Rid Of Walk On Mode/Reintroduced the Jordan Rec Center
Fully Customizable for the Winning team if they have a clan Association/Pro Am Team.

        Bring back Mascots

Have a re-imagination of the neighborhood on a broader scale, (open world/GTA style)but make it the "City". Have Multiple Gyms to be able to have access to that compare to real life based on your Teammate Grade and your Skill Level. Your overall level should not play a factor in your players ability to gain access to these Gyms/Parks. Time Played should never be a factor in gaining access to play.

Introduce New Parks/Gyms drawn from inspiration from real courts like the
        Tenement In the Phillipines
        Holcombe Rucker Park
        Venice Beach Park
etc...basically Parks & Gyms that are based off of real courts and you gain access to them based on how you play, Not by reaching an Overall.

Have Constant Updates for the entire game. Myteam, MyGm, Pro AM, The City, The Rec Center.

Have spawn points points through out the city.

Cross Platform gaming for PS/XB1/PC/Mobile Gaming

Quick start up/Quick Turnaround feature for pro am/knockout mode

To kinda piggy back off this, 2K really took a **** on players who have below 80 overalls. It's almost impossible to play a pickup game at the park when you've got that brown icon attached to your name. There should be separate lobbies or gyms based on the different tiers (65-69 / 70-79 / 80-84 / 85+). At least give players the opportunity to use their low-leveled players on the park.

With this system, I would allow a 65 overall to go to whatever Park he pleases, but once he gets to a 70, he can't go back to the 65-69 Park.

I remember 2K16s shooting being good but was that the one that had those automatic foul on jumpsuits? Like I'd pump fake a guy and instead of being able to go past him it would trigger that animation. I can't remember if it was 16 or 17.

Defense in 2K16 was really good, too. It may just be me but it felt like the players were too big for the court so it everyone covered a lot of ground.

To prevent this from becoming another wish list thread, what aspects (if any) of an older 2Ks online gameplay would you mix and match or add to? I only ask because it gives us a baseline and something we know 2K can execute. I don't have a clue about online but it seems like the online crowd prefer park affiliations to the neighborhood. On gameplay it seems to be something new every year. Like one year everyone was a 7"2' demigod. That's not a problem anymore but there are other things now making people mad.

For me personally in terms of the post up game, it would be a combination of all previous 2KS to make it perfect.

                - The face up game, The movement, and up and under game from 2k18
                - The shot meter on hooks, fouls and the running hook shot animations from 2k17
                - The badges and standing dunks from 2k16
                - The post fakes and animation cancelling from 2k15
                - The AI post defense and move combos from 2k14
                - The rebounding from 2k14 without the 7ft glitch
