2Ks "I know better than the person on the sticks" programming
It's trash and it has to go. I'm sick and tired of being pulled in directions I'm not trying to go. On offense I keep getting pulled to the 3 point line regardless of whether or I'm shooter or if I have a hotspot there. On defense even with def. assist set to 0 I'm still pull in directions I'm not trying to go, I'll end up getting pulled out of good position for no reason. The boxouts are just as bad, a couple feet of open space that if you try to run into you're forced into being boxed out and usually a foul. Even with the boxout assist set to 0.Say "No" to railroaded MC modes.Tags: None -

This will never happen. 2k is animation heavy and as long as they are, you will never fully be in control of your player.Comment

It's just not responsive. It's a little better than 2k16 but there's a reason a lot of us miss the feel of last gen when you had wayyy more control.Student of the game. #Fundamentals

Re: 2Ks "I know better than the person on the sticks" programming
Have you tried turning off the "who to guard" option in your controller settings? On defense even with def. assist set to 0 I'm still pull in directions I'm not trying to go, I'll end up getting pulled out of good position for no reason.
It could just be a placebo effect, but I feel like 2K's automated defensive movement is reduced whenever "who to guard" is turned off.Comment

Nope all assists are off that includes who to guard. The game still feels the need to pull where it feels is a good spot oftentimes resulting in an unnecessary mistake or me being out of position.Say "No" to railroaded MC modes.Comment

I hate those automatic fouls. Especially that canned layup foul animation. Also hate guys spamming the block and steal button in the post and somehow knock the ball from my guy and not get the foul.Comment

That's definately an issue. Happens a lot on passes too and I hate it. If I press the chest pass I want a chest pass 100% of the time even if it's the wrong decision. If I want a bounce or a lob pass button I press that button and I expect to throw a bounce/lob pass 100% of the time. I've noticed too when you grab a rebound with a big and go to outlet the pass and an opposing player is in the way the game will make you fake pass instead. I mean thanks but let me have a turnover, it's my fault. It's more frustrating to have the game decide for you than make mistakes.Comment

Re: 2Ks "I know better than the person on the sticks" programming
I hate when I'm running like a 2/3 on 1 fast break and I kick it out to a shooter because the d collapsed on me going to the rim and instead of staying there for a board or a return pass on the close it the game forces me to spot up in one of the corners...MY GUY HAS A 26 3PT rating...what sense does that make!? Or when the game pulls me away from my man on defense to help on a non issue player...I'm covering a player like Steph Curry and the game forces me into a screen that I was a good 2 feet away from or the game forces me into a spin move under a screen instead of going over like I was trying to only to have someo kick it out to Curry for a wide open 3 it's good damn near every time. I don't need to be handheld through the game, if I make a mistake that's on me I don't want the game to make mistakes for me.That's definately an issue. Happens a lot on passes too and I hate it. The awkward player movement has to be one of the most frustrating things in this game. It's trash and it has to go. I'm sick and tired of being pulled in directions I'm not trying to go. Re: 2Ks "I know better than the person on the sticks" programming
The amount of quick sand movement in this game is ridiculous on defense - absolutely hate it - even with a 90 lateral in my career - online you still feel like a slug. One of the most annoying things i've ever experienced. No point in defensive builds like LDD if the game nerfs defense with such things. Offense is OP eitherway.Comment
