^^^Agreed. At the beginning sharps were the hardest to defend but now they are actually one of the easiest. Part of that is 2K adding when you contest their shot it's most likely off. So if they shoot and you like undercut them they'll miss for the most part. A person that knows how to use a Slasher (for me since I am 6') could be a way bigger threat and harder to defend than SS's. Shot creators is also harder to defend. Only time a SS is a issue for me is if he's getting help w/ brick wall screens and etc.

Playmakers and point forwards is easily the hardest to defend. You can do it all especially if you made them a decent height.

As you know Im a offline player only, but like you, since the last patch, I have actually started playing the game again. Before this last patch, it had just gotten tired of feeling like I didnt have all that much control over my player. Since the last patch, the game seems to play like it did, right out of the box, and right out of the box this yr, this was the best playing game they had ever made imo.

The shot tuning, seems fine to me, sure I have had to do some adjusting of the shooting sliders, but all in all, Im fine with it. Personally I dont think they will ever make all those online players happy, seems the majority of them, will whine and cry no matter what, but it is what it is, and I feel bad for those who do play online that actually understand basketball, and have to deal with it all.

Shot Creator: yer...erm...Kobe hittin 4 leaning fadaways 3s in a row

          um..yea..very balance

Also "just position yourself and press a button" sound like what everyone (all archetypes) are doing lol.

Take away what makes a sharpshooter different (the range) and what you basically have is just a slower, less explosive playmaker or shot creator.

You got playmakers and shot creators hitting 3's at a 50-60% clip, so if you want the deep range gone...The other archetype gotta take a hit because otherwise there is no point in making a sharpshooter

All archetypes are OP in one way or another, Playmakers give me the most trouble but i'm not out here campaigning against them, they recently toned down the speed boosting but I don't care, they could have kept that in and I wouldn't have a problem with it.
The key is not whether all archetypes are OP - the KEY is HOW they are OP. And how their OP aspects affects the game as a whole from a competitive counter POV.

I mentioned that you can atleast counter those archetypes in a more legit way. And overall they impact the game on the defensive side way less than being able too shoot from such a distance.

If you want to shoot from such a distance - sure - do it.

But there needs to be a RISKKKK - and with the high % in place - there isn't one.

So this encourages more selfish ball hog mentality - and people plan to use this methods consistently.

There is a legit risk for every archetype per say - but sharpshooters have way less risk because team defense is a must in this game.

And when you have to constantly help on D so the other team doesn't get easy points - you basically still give them easy points because you won't be able to recover even if you changed your mind midway. So it esentially becomes a 4 v 4. How fun.

While every archetype has their "OP" potential - the way to counter them is less of a hassle - aka less of a lose lose situation - than what sharpshooters have.

And of course - that range is more unrealistic than anything. Especially the %. Not to mention how hard it is to counter. Again - esentially making defending one a lose lose situation.

It makes total sense to me. But afterall you just admitted that you wouldn't care if they kept speedboosting. So clearly you aren't the type of person who cares about online legit competitiveness. You are fine with full arcade - i want more legitimacy.

It's taste - i get that. That's all there's to it. You don't care as you just said - i do lol. I'm curious though why you replied in the first place disagreeing since you just don't care?. I thought it had some substance behind it.

I mean bro - disagree on something you care about lol - otherwise there's no purpose to it other than "just let them have fun".

It's like me commenting on my team when i don't even care about that mode and whatever people may be annoyed with and want fixed.

Limitless range is a valid annoyance to many people. And indeed many consider it a problem especially because of the efficiency.

To me the main problems are/were - Any type of bailout that is too easy to use. And makes a certain archetype more potent than another especially in terms of ease of play. Such as speedboosting / limitless / brick wall / Posterizer. That's mostly it.

I don't care if it happens i just don't want it to be spammed and made too strong. There can be room for both arcade aspects and sim aspects. As long as you keep the arcade aspects at bay and don't make it so everyone can abuse them consistently. There needs to be some sort of risk always.

Re: Vote on 2k17 recent shooting tweaks. What do you think?

If you want to see the most OP characters in any game, all you have to do is look at which one is most used.

From day 1 until now sharpshooters and stretch bigs are the most OP and most used archetypes without question.

You will rarely run into a team of 5 without at least two of them.

The second most OP/most used would probably the play maker. And then the glass cleaner.
Id guess that play makers are the second most used player and that would probably be much higher if there were a big man version. As it is the most OP play makers are the 6'10 point forwards that everyone is building now.

Glass cleaners are/were only OP because of brick wall and that doesn't seem as OP anymore.

I've never heard anyone say that slashers, post scorers, or lock down defenders are OP.

That's because the amount of dudes that run a slasher don't think outside the box. You see a lot of very straight forward guys. Rarely see people use the moving mids/step back game. They also don't abuse the gravity you can create based on people assuming you'll always poster. But even then, they are underrated, not op.
