If me playing normally nets me a 50 point win im not gonna back off just because my opponent is sad.

calling TOs, pausing and cheese like that tho, ill never do unless I was provoked by my opponent.
I agree with this. If i have an opportunity to score, i'm gonna take it. Why should i stop trying just because my opponent played poorly

This the same community that used to pause the game everytime they score and show you replays of their dunks. This should be expected.

        It depends for me.

If i played a cheeser i'll run up the score and annoy him as much as i possibly can (if i have time for that). I'm sorry but if someone just annoyed me and ruined my limited 2k time for the past half hour i think i have earned the right to return the favor at the end.

If i played someone like myself i'll just park at half court like a normal human being.

That said, i barely play online anymore. Not really a fan of any team in particular to use in PNO, and myteam is the worst it's ever been imo. The mypark spazzfest makes me physically ill and while pro am has it's moments it's still generally a boring and/or frustrating experience. I'm actually enjoying offline after the latest patch, still a bunch of brain neutral cpu plays but all in all acceptable.

I've gotten scolded by my own teammates before in All Star Team Up because I walked the ball up the court and let the last few seconds tick off the clock in a blowout win.

"GET OFF MY LAWN YOU DAMN KIDS! In my day people played online games with RESPECT!"

What are you taking about, man? I've been playing online since nfl2k2 and it has always, ALWAYS been the same. Stop complaining about what other CHILDREN do. Why make yourself angry?

I don't like to perpetuate the practice of running up the score personally. If I'm up big late, I'm going to slow it down. Bring in the bench. And you can bet that if the shot clock is off in such a situation, I'm dribbling it out. Personally, I think that other person is a person, who played and played to win. The least I can do is show a little respect. Maybe it will catch on.
I think this is the main reason. There is a kinda mental disconnect for some people when they get online to where they don't feel like they are playing an actual person in some aspects.

What I've found odd is that some people have been insulted when I put my bench in. I guess they think I'm saying "I'm so much better than you that I can beat you with my bench" but I'm just showing some sportsmanship.

Because it's an upsetting reminder of what our culture as a whole has become. If it were just within the context of a video game, fine, but this extends to real life sports and eventually to your actions regarding others in real life.

I'm not trying to be a grumpy old person, (I'm only 24, after all. [emoji38] ) I'm simply trying to point out that this is an issue that goes much deeper than gaming and when we excuse it and say, "Well, that's the way it's been forever," we miss the point of the issue.

I suppose it makes me angry because it highlights a major problem in how others look at their fellow man.

I've had this happen to me as well. Call a TO in a blowout with 2 and a half or so to go to put in my bench and the guy quits. Who doesn't know what it means when the coach puts his scrubs in at garbage time? 😂
