    Re: First NBA 2K18 Screenshots

Lighting is the main reason imo that 2k14 can often give the impression that it's the pentacle of the series graphics wise. Out of curiosity I picked up 2k14 for $2.00 just to compare and while the arena lighting really makes the game pop visually a lot of the cyberfaces in the game are terrifying. There is also way more content in 2k17 when compared to 2k14. I'm no developer but that may explain why 2k14 was able to do some things graphically that few of their following titles have matched.

I've been saying for years that 2k should add a brightness slider to their title...A slider that exists in most all other games such as rpgs, fps, etc.

EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.

I agree a Brightness and contrast slider would be nice Madden added this feature in Madden 17 and I loved it.

Looks to me like they sacrificed 14s lighting for more details on the players and court. I look back at gameplay in 14 and the courts kind of look empty. 17 had more fans and camera men on the sidelines so the arenas look more alive and packed. I still think 16 overall had the best graphics overall including lighting in the areans, the body types, jerseys, skin tones, face scans.

Anyway, the graphics in this game looks similar to 17, which is fine with me. I'm really interested in seeing how the shorts fit. I hope the player shorts are now knee length and less baggy since that style seems to be popular.

These guy's shorts are barely reaching their knees these days.

I think the jerseys look good. Can't tell on the arms/body types just yet.

I'm looking for more muscle definition but yeah.... hard to tell. Seems a bit better than 2K17 at a glance.

I would like to see Whiteside also before I pour praise onto them. Big man body types were bad also.

The odd thing is that Whiteside only has a 70 strength in game lol. He's definitely stronger than guys like Kevin Love who has an 83 strength. Whiteside's strength attribute should be somewhere between an 88 and 92 imo

That's the question. If 2K really cares in detail about player ratings or just be meticulous on the top 30 players and careless with the rest.

Anyway, I'd rather edit first before heading to MyGM.

I think the screens look good for the most part with DeRozan taking the cake. My bro JT of Space Jam (eleague team), His mates are going out next week to play the game. So it looks like 2k is looking to get some gameplay feedback from the top pro am guys. I surely going to be asking them a ton of questions about what they saw.

Should the lack of sweat in these screens be a cause for concern? Players look dry as a bone which also makes the lighting look darker because there is no light reflecting off the sweat on these players, but it's early though so I may be nit picking.
