Re: LEGENDS Thread - NBA 2K18 & beyond: (Accessories, jerseys, sig styles etc)
I wonder if the Pistons trying their best to take Jordans head off every time he drove was pre programmed, lol

Isaiah Thomas plays so much not like himself. In reality he was so dominant and so not afraid of anyone (kind of like the Iverson of his generation). In 2K18 he looks more delicate and afraid of contact, slower, pretty meh. It would take some major editing to make him play like the real thing. My Specs:

Really? I thought he was pretty aggressive...he did mostly finish with floaters though...

Yeah, which bothered me. Isaiah was also a great dribbler, but you would never know it from that video. He just didn't look like the real guy, something is just not right. My Specs:

Re: LEGENDS Thread - NBA 2K18 & beyond: (Accessories, jerseys, sig styles etc)
I didn't play 2K17, so I don't know what he looked like there. But from this video (6:06), he has a beard and looks like the older VC, to me.
<iframe src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/HuAUdK8BLNY?rel=0" allowfullscreen="" width="560" height="315" frameborder="0"></iframe>
The good news: He no longer likes an inhuman monster.
The bad news: He looks like a fusion of Martin Luther King Jr. and post-retirement Rick Mahorn (with a hint of Idris Ilba).
It's a move in the right direction at least.
In other news, the 1989 Pistons jerseys still appear to be rife with inaccuracy. Trim way too noticeably thin, name font too thin and small, numbers too small, team name plate too small. A comparison:
Spoiler
Lastly, not classic, but since there's no 2K18 court art thread, I'll drop this in here in the meantime. The new Pistons court in 2K18 has different blues and reds everywhere. There should just be one version of red and one version of blue throughout.

The font of the name on the back of Pistons jerseys is too small. Also, they used a serif font, and unless this is what Pistons jerseys look like now (if that's the one they are supposed to be wearing), it is wrong. Should be a sans-serif font.My Specs:

I dunno how to make GIFs etc. but the 20 minute mark ~ Jordan drives around a pick and gets fouled in the lane.
The layup animation looks great - very MJ IMO.
DYING to get my hands on the game and just get in a bunch of hours for some real perspective (signature stuff, faces, animations etc.)Last edited by MarkWilliam; 09-01-2017, 11:05 PM.Comment

Those jerseys in the video are 2K's representation of the Pistons' 1989 jerseys.Comment

I'll just paste here my post from the Bulls-Pistons gameplay video thread:
My only problem here, and that's just about classic players, is that there wasn't that much difference between them. I was expecting more character, more recognizable mannerism, more signature play. It looked somewhat blend. Isaiah Thomas wasn't much different than...let's say Steve Blake. He wasn't Isaiah Thomas, he was just the point guard and if he didn't wear a #11 Pistons jersey, I wouldn't know who he was.
I guess I was hoping for too much. I was hoping for more excitement, more distinctive play, more character. It might take a lot of editing to get there. My Specs:

Re: LEGENDS Thread - NBA 2K18 & beyond: (Accessories, jerseys, sig styles etc)
On the flip side, I think Jordan's moves have probably been slowly removed as the game's animation system, dribble system, and every other system evolves year by year. For instance, maybe a few of his signature layups were technically two-man animations that the game moved away from (I'm thinking of the one-handed palm layup while leaning on a defender's back).
That said, if Michael Jordan is becoming more and more generic in his moves, dunks, and layups as the years progress, then something needs to change.
