Yeah I ran into way too many layups with all versions of Shaq. Not enough dunks through contact. Looks like I’ll be making similar tweaks on my roster to get the real Shaq to please stand up lol

It's weird, the Miami Shaq in my MyTeam does a ton of post/ standing dunks
Could be that it's MyTeam as well.Comment

Yeah I kind of just assumed Shaquille O'Neal, of all people, would have his own signature dunk package assigned. And of all people, I figure he'd be the guy to have a 99 dunk tendency. Results seemed much better after the edit. Computer Shaq put in a much more Shaq-like performance first game after.Comment

Shaq is a bad man.
Tall players like Muresan have always been a bit OP (and still are in some respects) but it's cool to see strength ratings matter hereComment

Just for frame of reference, this is why small details matter. In 2K17, I almost felt bad when I'd mention things like "the Pistons blue looks a little too light", "the chest has the wrong word and it's the wrong font", "the collar color design is off", and "the name on the back is too small".
On their own, all those things sound like we're just being difficult to be difficult. But man... what a difference.

I remember Shaq would get stopped repeatedly by guys like Muresan & Bradley. Strength didn’t mean much in older games.

It's nice to see a Shaq utilizing Shaq-like moves. That dropstep is a beaut. I still think there's some room to improve the play of ground-bound guys like Bradley, Muresan or, say, Greg Ostertag.
Also, this comment is just an excuse to share this gif.

Re: LEGENDS Thread - NBA 2K18 & beyond: (Accessories, jerseys, sig styles etc)
A combination of strength+weight absolutely mattered. Shaq still gave those guys the business, but you also have to remember that Muresan was a big 300 pound man himself.. And early in Shaq's career they were around the same ball-park in weight. Muresan was going to get his stops, he was one of the only players in the league hefty enough to really hold ground on Shaq without needing a double, and he was a massive 7'7" man. Even then though, Shaq's strength was absolutely a major factor in his game:I remember Shaq would get stopped repeatedly by guys like Muresan & Bradley. Strength didn’t mean much in older games.

Later in Shaq's career though there was a brief period where he was substantially heavier, but hadn't quite reached the point of being too heavy, and he was still massive and athletic at the same time. His peak 2-3 year window with the Lakers, his strength+size was absolutely a huge factor. Nobody could hold ground on him, nobody even knew how to ref his games.Comment

All of 2Ks predetermined blocks look kinda janky. The block animations as well as the shot animations the guy with the ball is forced into.. One thing I think 2K could make some big improvements on.Comment

Tom Chambers is one of the only guys I can remember who even when he didn't have a big running start he still frequently jump off of one leg instead of gathering with two.. LeBron is another, might be the only guy who gets higher than Chambers off of one-leg without having a good running start, or when the foot planting looks a bit awkward..
Chambers is also one of the only guys I can remember who would consistently jump for a dunk and in mid-air rather than dunking with both hands or his right hand he would switch sides and dunk with his left.. Meaning jump off his left foot and if the defender was there switch and finish with his left hand. Same foot same hand dunks, I think he did that better than anybody.Comment
