I still think that there will always be something missing, even if every player has all his signature moves. And that is the way each player walks/runs. MJ had a very distinctive way of walking/running, and many players have their own way. Until this is implemented in the game, there will always be something missing.

I'm just watching game 3 of the 1990 Bulls-Pistons series now. Even if the picture quality isn't great and the camera zooms out, I can always spot MJ, just by seeing the way he walks/runs.

I don't know who can imitate walking/running of NBA players (it's very hard to do it), but if it ever gets added (or at least have 10-15 different styles to choose from), it can make a huge difference.

mj looked and played so awkward in that pistons/bulls vid. did you see his post fade? it was more of a big man turn-around with no lift. his ft looks worse than 2k17's. his shoulders and traps make him look malnourished lol.

ugh, w/e... it's gameplay that's important, right? hard to swallow though.

Looks like I'm hanging with 2k16 again at this juncture.

The legends are looking generic as hell. As much as I agree it was great of them to add in the all time teams and 17 new classic ones - really, what's the point if the only thing that separates them is a cyberface? Zero signature stuff just makes it bland as hell. They might as well all be John Smiths out there.

MJ moved, walked, ran like a complete pro.

I actually know what you mean. And there's a whole world of different players basic movements out there.

But until they get his shooting, follow throughs, layups, dunks, celebrations etc. I didn't have the guts to mention what you did haha.

I think Mike looks ok - but I see why people are poking holes in some of the pics (as I did a few pages back).

It's that he is pulling routine 2K facial expressions - which unfortunately are not facial expressions the GOAT would pull.....apparently. It's the only way I can explain how his All Time Bulls pic was perfect but sometimes during play, he just looks a little off.

That said, that's not enough to make me turn away in disgust..... but if the legends lack the signature style (as they appear to from what we've seen) then it just makes me not want to use them (unfortunately).

An off facial expression is apparent during close ups. But off signature style you can see from the playable camera.

Sorry if I keep repeating my point about signature style.

He looks fine, just having fun with the photo. Signature style is definitely something they should have for a great one like MJ. It's a shame they went away from it since 2k11 & 12. I'm guessing MJ won't renew his contract after seeing this.

From the Bulls vs Pistons video, a few things stand out...

I wasn't able to see during the gameplay if Jordan's tongue out animation is in the game at all.

Rodman's bodytype looks off and not muscular enough

                    Jordan's bodytype looks off

Rip Hamilton has too large a bodytype

Jerry Stackhouse has too dark a skintone

                    In the 07 Warriors video...

Almost all the Warriors have the wrong accessories (inexplicably they all have modern shooting sleeves)

Webber appears to have the wrong accessories and wrong hairstyle.

                    Miscellaneous inaccuracies I've seen...

Karl Malone on the 2004 Lakers is the same player model from the All time Jazz and isn't bald.

Kobe on the All time Lakers is bald and looks more like current Kobe instead of with a full head of hair and has the wrong accessories.

Vince Carter on the All time Raptors is bearded and looks more like his current player model than prime Vince on the Raptors.

McGrady has the same old player model he has had for years used for every team he's on.

Derrick Rose looks to be 2011 MVP Rose on the All time Bulls but his appearance and player model reflecting his prime version, appears to be the exception and not the rule. All time Cavaliers LeBron is just current LeBron player model with current accessories and a headband. If they wanted his player model to be representative of his actual appearance during his first 7 years with Cleveland (hence the headband) then he should have different accessories (double rubber bands on both wrists and no compression knee pad/pants and short socks.) and he should not have as many tattoos. If he is representative of his 2009 MVP season then he should not have the "What we do in life Echoes in an Eternity " lower bicep tattoo or the "Akron Est 1984" tattoo accross his shoulder blades.

Dwyane Wade is the same player model they have been using since the 2006 Heats inclusion in 2k16. Which is wrong and looks nothing like Wade from the 2006 Heat team, and looks like modern Wade with a goatee.

All time Raptors Chris Bosh has his dreads and seems to look good so him and Rose are representative of how they looked during their prime with the team yet most of the other players it doesn't look to be the case.

I'm going to hold off on making any sweeping statements just yet. I'll need to see all the signature options and how well we can dress things up and customize on our own.

That said, I do agree with the broader point. I'm happy and thankful to see the legends return as one of the game's focal points during the production cycle. However, I have to emphatically agree that signature styles are incredibly crucial when using these teams are players.

Classic teams are so often about experiencing and re-creating great moments and great experiences. We have these moves, dunks, layups, and plays burned into our memories. It was magical to see those things replicated so well in 2K11 and 2K12. Conversely, removing those signature aspects slowly kills a large part of what makes classic teams so awesome to use in the first place.

To be honest, with the base 2K11 and 2K12 provided, I figured we'd be on the next level by now when it came to classic signatures. We should be looking forward to breaking off Baron Davis' authentic AK47 poster dunk animation and Kenyon Martin's classic jersey rip follow throughs and Vince Carter's unique one-handed clockwise 360's. Instead, we're mostly just hoping that some of the signature moves that have been taken away from the original teams maybe return some day (let alone thinking of the new teams).

If they decided to just do MJ - I mean, his palms, fakes, pivots, celebrations, general movements, layups, dunks - heck even the way the younger MJ fist pumped after big plays, but the older MJ would just back peddle back to defense like a boss.

If MJ got special attention and the rest were a little more "generic" (for now) I'd even be ok with that.

Don't get me wrong, I'd like the rest to have signature style, but I also understand it is a big task.

If they just pimped out MJs complete package for starters and then just did the rest gradually over time, I'd be fine with it.

If ANYONE should get the special treatment, it's the GOAT. He should feel, look, move in a world of his own out there.

These concerns/complaints regarding signature styles for legends are on point. But it really hasn't been the same since 2k12. So my expectations were low. I would've loved for 2k to give the legends a signature overhaul since they were bringing so many back. But unfortunately it looks like they mostly got face treatment. It's going to be a matter of roster makers being able to adjust tendencies and signatures to get them playing as realistic as possible.

I haven't been keeping up with this thread; does 2k match the accessories and shoe colors with the real-life counterpart? I know previous years it was quite the gripe about Knicks colors not matching the black, orange, blue, OR sometimes green accessories correctly.

Kendrick Perkins and Tayshaun Prince are out this year. Rights not secured since they technically didn't retire officially yet.
