'86, '89 and '91 Bulls have heavy mesh styling for names and numbers; '93, '96 and '98 Bulls have stitching style for names and numbers. I didn't look at the detailing, but to put it in layman's terms, the former away names are white while the latter away names are black outlined in white.

I try not to be critical of 2K, but it's so easy to get classic assets and players right....but get them right just once, then copy and paste from there. It's really about keeping things that simple.

Nice detail with the heavy mesh vs stitching. I always tried to pinpoint the difference in how they looked and that explains it.

The Bulls also had some pretty shinny jerseys when Ben Gordon played for them. Similar to the 76ers in the early 2000’s. It’s be nice if those were in the game.

Those terms always stuck with me because I was going to get an authentic Jordan Bulls jersey from a magazine around 1990. In the product description, the numbering and lettering were labeled "heavy mesh" and I still remember that. I also remember disliking that the names on their away jerseys were a different color than their numbers, but that would change with the stitching in 1992-93.

Here’s the two sets of jerseys. One is the 85-92 set and the other is the 92-05 set. The jerseys themselves are correct, it’s just incorrect to have the black patch on them for that long of a time.

As I'm going through the lebron era roster, I notice younger game models of Devin harris, Chris paul, and short hair John wall. When I go to edit them, it does not show the model that's used on the roster screen. Is just their current game model.

Go to edit the player, import player from the roster, import that same player on to the player you’re editing.. for example if you’re editing Devin Harris import that same Devin Harris onto the Devin Harris you are editing.. should fix your issue but you’ll have to do that every time you open edit menu for that player.

It’s the same trick for guys with different hair/goggles and all that.

Alright, who has some pro tips for getting three steal with Kobe Bryant in the Mamba Challenge. Somehow I lucked into it during the Wizards challenge but now I can't even land one steal against the Blazers, even after I bumped the difficulty down to rookie.

Alright, who has some pro tips for getting three steal with Kobe Bryant in the Mamba Challenge. Somehow I lucked into it during the Wizards challenge but now I can't even land one steal against the Blazers, even after I bumped the difficulty down to rookie.

Well you could try this on CPU/User Sliders:

Defense:
Steal Success: 100

Attributes:
Stealing: 100

Fouls:
Reaching Foul Frequency: 0

Ya know, I never considered that sliders might be changeable within the mode. Much appreciated.

I like the challenge of the goals but the steals requirement is just a bit of a crapshoot with the unreliability of the steals system. It's very difficult to jump passing lanes against the CPU and never know whether reaching for a ball being dribbled directly in front of you is going to be a whiff (likely), foul (likely), or poke away (unlikely).

^I know what you mean.

I haven't really played the game other than CPU vs CPU viewing and Mamba Moments (waiting for MJWizards to do his edits). But for the latter, I felt like I was stat chasing when it came to steals (the scoring, assists, etc came naturally).

I feel like those special modes are like hardcoded to make it difficult too. I remember one of the MJ challenges last year I got everything out of the way early except for the rebounds and I basically just intentionally let them shoot to chase the rebounds and it felt like I was being pulled away by invisible magnets the entire time. And ended up moving Jordan to center and intentionally fouling for like the last few minutes and still wouldn’t let me get them.

Sorry to get a little off topic, and I'm not saying what game they should have added.....but instead of 7 moments with 21 objectives, wouldn't it have made perfect sense to have one more for 8 moments with 24 objectives for the obvious reason? 2K did some head scratching things this year; my favorite version of Kobe is Frobe, but having him on the "main" cover in his #8 jersey for 2K24....makes me wonder why (estate issue, something else, etc).

My only assumption for such a ridiculous flub of not using 24 Kobe for 2K24(!!!!) is it’s some sort of art choice to not have the number “24” be on the cover if it’s not the actual game logo. Because they need their own font for the 24 (and won’t use the lakers 24 font) so that would mean having the 24 jersey would put “24” on the cover twice which could look cluttered and redundant.

It’s a choice I still don’t agree with at all.

It was pretty much confirmed that it was an estate situation a few weeks ago. It makes sense but if there is hella red tape, you gotta do what you gotta do.

Again, I feel you though as a gamer and an NBA fan.. but love to his fam cause I know even things like this for them aren't even easy to deal with or look at.

I feel you, too Jay. I got the Mamba Edition cover because, and I could be wrong, it looked like that was the #24 Kobe. And I read that particular games couldn’t be used as moments due to the estate, but I did not know for certain if the estate prevented them from adding one more moment.
