I've got to be honest, from what I'm reading and having seen so far, I've got a sinking feeling that I'll be wasting my money in a couple of hours.
Some of the legends may look great, and it's cool we've been given a whole host of new classic players and teams, but if Michael Jordan plays no different than say, a Penny Hardaway, then really - what's the point? Changing tendencies will only marginally contribute to a fix. It's not gonna give MJ a palm fake, or Mutumbo a finger wag, where as you've got Steph Curry sitting pretty with his nice mouth guard animations and Lebron with his signature celebrations etc.
I understand the whole 'Just be grateful you have these teams and players at all' argument, I really do, but at what point do we stop being complacent and actually say to 2k - will you just put some elbow grease into this and stop half assing it? In 2011/2012 on lesser machines, 2k were giving us legendary players with signature styles of their own, and accompanying courts which looked and sounded pretty accurate in relation to the time period - here we are 5 years removed, on a far more powerful set of consoles and all we seem to have is generic players, with tacked on legend cyberfaces. No sig skills. Dead arenas, nothing to differentiate one player form the next.
Nitpicking? Sure, but as I mentioned, it's now becoming increasingly frustrating to see year after year pass, and things that made these classic teams special, get removed with every new iteration of the game, instead of ADDING to them.
