Re: LEGENDS Thread - NBA 2K18 & beyond: (Accessories, jerseys, sig styles etc)
I'm not sure if we can post links here but on the NBA2k reddit, there is a NBA 2k19 feedback thread that will actually be sent to 2k. I know some people felt they didn't have the ability to actually get 2k to notice the jersey complaint. It's currently on page 2 of the homepage.Comment

Re: LEGENDS Thread - NBA 2K18 & beyond: (Accessories, jerseys, sig styles etc)
More than just the all time times but not really sure what triggers it. At a certain point any jersey that goes to the 90's and beyond are long. So like the Bulls wearing the 85-92 jerseys are long instead of short on the at least 89-93 squads.. But while they are all wearing long shorts one of the generic fill in players has short shorts.. So it seems as if their is still an option for it to be tied to players.
I'm wondering if I can't copy that player to a CAP and he retain the short shorts. Save him and then copy over him with the player likeness I want. Might have to fill the info and ratings in myself, but I had to do that before this year anyways lol.. This would allow me to give anybody I wanted the short shorts... I haven't tested it yet though.Comment

I saw a post on reddit showings Sonics old school jersey were in under all time OKC. Is that true or was that photoshopped? If they are in, does selecting the Jerseys change the home court to their retro Sonics court?Comment

Re: LEGENDS Thread - NBA 2K18 & beyond: (Accessories, jerseys, sig styles etc)
I think the Sonics jerseys are available to both the 1996 Sonics and All-Time Thunder. I imagine it would not affect the court though.Comment

What would you guys think about this for 2K20, a Jordan vs LeBron game. Hear me out...
So no offense to Bill Russell, Wilt, Kareem, Magic, Bird, Hakeem, Shaq, Kobe, Duncan, or anyone else.. but when taking about the GOAT, most people talk about Jordan or LeBron.
So say they scrap all the classic teams in the game currently, except for the all-time teams. And then they feature every NBA team for pivotal years in Jordan and LeBron's careers. Having teams from the same season makes the matchups a little better instead of having some random teams play each other, like a team from '92 playing a team from '94, in my opinion. It would be better if they were from the same year.
So for Jordan, you have:
-The '85 season - 23 teams (His Rookie Season)
-The '91 season - 27 teams (His first championship, finally getting past Detroit, beating Magic in the Finals)
-The '96 season - 29 teams (The Bulls 72-win season, his first full season back after baseball)
-The '03 season - 29 teams (His Final season)
For LeBron, you have:
-The '07 season - 30 teams (His first Finals appearance)
-The '13 season - 30 teams (His best Heat season, the crazy win over the Spurs)
-The '16 season - 30 teams (Beating the 73-win Warriors, ending Cleveland's drought)
-The '20 season - 30 teams (LeBron on the Lakers, plus basically the current roster for the next game)
Think about it, that gives you a pretty full picture of the NBA from the '80s to present. In the '85 season, along with rookie MJ, you get rookies Hakeem and Barkley, Dr. J and Moses Malone are still on the 76ers, Magic and Bird are in their prime. You got Dominique on the Hawks and Bernard King on the Knicks. In the '91 season, you get arguably prime Jordan finally beating the Bad Boy Pistons, Run TMC, prime Clyde on the Blazers, etc. '96 you get arguably the best Bulls team, the Shaq/Penny Magic, Barkley on the Suns, Prime Reggie on the Pacers (assuming they finally pay for them to be in). In '03 you get the Kobe/Shaq Lakers, the Webber Kings, prime Duncan and Garnett and Iverson. In '07, you get Dirk's MVP season, the We Believe Warriors, the Nash Suns, Kobe at his craziest. And then '13 and '16 are pretty recent, I don't think I need to remind you guys about those seasons, and obviously '20 would be the current season next year. But that's a pretty good rundown of the NBA from the '80s to present.
And I do like the fact that 2K has historical teams. So lets say they include a few from before the '80s to get a full picture of the leauge's history. Everyone remembers the 50th Anniversary Team, when they selected the 50 greatest players. But in 1980, they selected the 35th Anniversary team, and this team only featured 11 players. These 11 are pretty much the top players before the '80s: https://www.basketball-reference.com...niversary.html
So let's pick some teams featuring these 11 players:
'54 Minneapolis Lakers (George Mikan)
'58 St. Louis Hawks (Bob Pettit)
'62 Cincinnati Royals (Oscar Robertson)
'62 Philadelphia Warriors (Wilt Chamberlain)
'63 Boston Celtics (Bill Russell/John Havlicek/Bob Cousy)
'66 Los Angeles Lakers (Jerry West/Elgin Baylor)
'67 Philadelphia 76ers (Chamberlain)
'71 Milwaukee Bucks (Kareem Abdul-Jabbar/Robertson)
'72 Los Angeles Lakers (Chamberlain/West)
'76 New York Nets [ABA] (Julius Erving)
'77 Los Angeles Lakers (Abdul-Jabbar)
'77 Philadelphia 76ers (Erving)
That's 12 teams, plus the teams from the Jordan/LeBron seasons would give you a total of 240 teams. I don't know how realistic this is, but I think it'd be a pretty cool concept. They could do multiple covers like they did in 2K12, where you could get Jordan or LeBron on the cover, and you could choose one of multiple covers, so you could pick rookie Jordan, first three-peat Jordan, second three-peat Jordan, or Wizards Jordan, or for LeBron you could get either his first run with the Cavs, LeBron on the Heat, The second Cavs run, or the LeBron on the Lakers on the cover.Last edited by Stud_KickAss; 09-11-2018, 12:09 AM.Comment

Interesting concept, but it basically impossible to do or it would be done horribly with a ton of missing players. I like Jordan and LeBron, but not that muchComment

Re: LEGENDS Thread - NBA 2K18 & beyond: (Accessories, jerseys, sig styles etc)
Bad news, only way I can find to get the short shorts is to copy a players likeness from that era. For example, importing Larry Bird over Craig Hodges gave me a Bird model with short shorts on the 91 Bulls team while everyone else has long shorts.
Good news, this means it’s based on the player and should be very easy to fix with the option of an retro/current player toggle in the edit player menu. But whether or not 2K will actually do that, or ever even realize it’s an issue, that’s the real question.

Also if you important a players likeness onto a CAP you lose the option of adding/removing a headband. It seems that importing a players likeness copies over more than just their looks. All their info, player type seems to come with it.

Another thing with the shorts if it hasn't been mentioned already
The nba logo for the bulls shorts for the 93-04 shorts is in the wrong position
The logo should be in the lower corner, not top below the waist
This was fixed last year also
They should be able to fix that alsoComment

Small sample size but Kareem on all time Lakers has no socks. Several classic teams like Spurs have generic shoes on that say 2k. I haven't taken a deep dive in yet but so far there are some issues..at least we can edit that..will be time consuming but the short shorts issue hopefully gets patched

Generic shoes for classic players has been a thing since they were added in 2k11. I guess if their exact shoe isn’t in the game, 2k is not willing to give them a brandComment
