I don't have the game on at the moment so this might not be 100 percent exact, but the basics are:

    1. From the main menu, press the shoulder button almost all the way to the right to select something that might be called "Rosters/Options" or "Features/Options", or something like that.

    2. In the middle section, there should be an option called "Create Roster", click that.

    3. I think you name your roster before you begin, so name your roster whatever you want (you can always re-name it later).

    4. Then you'll enter the roster screen with all teams (current, classic, all-time). You should be able to peruse and edit as you please.

If you're interested in downloading Player DNA, aka other people's creations of missing players or just copies of players that already exist:

    1. Select a player you wish to turn into someone else (say, a generic player named David Johnson).

    2. Scroll all the way down on his information menu. There should be two options at the very bottom: "Import Player DNA" and "Export Player DNA".

    3. If you want to download someone else's DNA (aka replace the generic guy with, say, a created Rasheed Wallace), you select "Import Player DNA".

    4. Choose whether you want to download a player in the game or from 2KShare. Use search to find who you're looking for in case of the latter.

    5. Once the player has been found, choose whether you want to import his appearance and attributes, or just one or the other.

Thanks. So here's a question... I take it my custom saved roster is completely separate from the official roster that 2K updates, correct?

So say I edit the All-Time Lakers to add Lebron on there, and edit the All-Time Suns and 76ers to add a Barkley created player and then save that roster.

And then let's say there's a big trade in the NBA. 2K will update the default roster, but I'm assuming this will not change anything in my custom roster, right?

So if I use the default roster, the trade will be reflected, but the All-Time 76ers won't have Barkley, and then if I use my custom roster, the 76ers will have Barkley, but the trade will not be reflected. Is there a way to do both?

I guess what I'm asking is if there's a way to change the all-time and classic teams, but still have the current NBA roster updated throughout the season by 2K on the same roster.

I do not think that's possible. I usually have one go-to roster with all my classic edits and any current team edits too. If a big trade goes down, I just make it myself. At another time in my life, I was pretty fastidious with managing current roster transactions but now if I'm really pining to keep up with 10-day contracts and whatnot, the Official 2K Roster will suffice.

Granted, his hair on the '87 team looks pretty strange and will look similarly strange if copied to '91 but it'll be better than the Mychel Thompson thing.

Totally with you regarding Larry Bird. One day I trust we'll look back and laugh at the idea of us thinking Larry Bird looks good this year, but compared to pretty much every other iteration we've ever seen, the 2K19 version is the best yet. What a long strange trip it's been.

When I saw Larry Bird next Gen on 2k14 I thought 2k was playing a Joke on Larry Legend. His hair got worse in 15 too. Lol. He looked like an 80s hair band member. Lol . But he's nearly perfect in 19. Jordan is not quite 2k11 worthy yet, but best he's looked since then for sure.

I just played a 88-89 bulls verse 88-89 pistons game, and the pistons had the correct short length, but the bulls didnt, really not sure what they did there with the short lengths.

Back on the grind. Just finished the Suns and Celtics for my 2010 Roster. Going to probably do most of the other teams before I do the Warriors and Raptors in the hopes that they add Bosh and Ellis back in the game

I may have missed this last year because I didn't focus much on the older teams, but just now noticed they took off the 72 Lakers (one of the greatest teams of all times) and kept the 48 win 71 Lakers, a team that was only on the game to give the 71 Bucks an opponent on 2K12. This makes no sense to me.

Was this the case last year? It's little things like this that causes me to smh...

Honestly I think they removed it because they weren't able to retain enough players for the 72 Hawks, so rather than remove the 71 Lakers and have no opponent for the Bucks AND 72 Lakers, they just took the 72 out

EDIT: NVM I may have got the year wrong completely, yep I'm lost in their decision too than

Ahhh. I see. That may be their logic, but several of the newer legend teams don't have opponents. (i.e 99 Knicks, 03 Mavs, etc) It would have made more sense to keep a top 5 all time team.

Does anyone know of a good Charles Barkley player dna yet?

Also why dont they allow you to edit muscle tone for certain players, i see they added in some muscle definition for certain players this game, but there is no option in edit player, things like this should be in the game.

And is there someone on here who does the player dna for xbox that is good at making players? When i search for players il want to know good gamertags to look for.

I guess i could also upload my Hakeem player dna, i changed his signature animations, and noticed that also goes with player dna, but its also the reason i wanted to be able to edit muscle tone, Hakeem should have that skinny ripped build.

I think Sellaz32, right above you, uploads DNA to XBox but I could be wrong. He does great work. I have uploaded HowardD's Rasheed Wallace DNA to XBox under gamertag Swove.

Edit: Also ojandpizza is on XBox - he's made some great faces but hasn't uploaded them yet. He has a lot of great formulas in the Rosters section though.

I am actually uploading a version of Barkley now. I will be posting it in the CAP Legends thread in roster forum.

Forgot how much of a grind it was to make a roster from scratch. 6 teams completely done on my 2010 Roster. Really hoping we get Bosh back though

I tried fiddling around with the short shorts issue today, i tried to find a correlation on why certain player had them and others didnt, i couldnt fine one.

Hopefully 2k fixes this, authenticity is a big thing if your making a season surrounding older teams, it should be a simple fix. Its odd, because in the edit player screen, you can see the proper players in short shorts, but then you boot up a game or freestyle, and they are not there.

One thing i did notice is more of the players on all time teams had them on, so transferring player dna helps, and most jerseys dating before the 90's will have the entire team in short shots, but anything after the 90's is a mess.
