Does there need to be a separate mode for playing with the classic teams? With degree to which the modern game differs from old school NBA, it seems like it will get harder to mimic that old style of play. Pace is much faster now for example. I think a separate mode with appropriate rules would be nice.

Anyone know a retired numbers workaround for current players? I guess Zbo’s number is retired for Memphis and I can’t even give him his own number. I didn’t run into this problem with the 2010 roster because I used the 2013 Grizz as my base. I was able to give Grant Hill 33 for Phoenix by changing his name to Alvan Adams, changing his number, then changing his name back to grant hill. Not sure what to do for Randolph

You can mess around with sliders to make the CPU play at a slower pace, make/take less threes, and use the post more

Yes. There absolutely should be seperate mode so we can play with the rules of each Era.

At this point alot of retro teams have no advantage vs. Current teams. Especially teams that existed prior to or during the early years of the 3pt line.

Defensively, we should be able to change zones to be illegal to level the playing field.

I don't know if there needs to be a separate mode altogether, but if 2K was feeling motivated to earn some extra credit, I imagine they could create era-specific rules that could be toggled through settings.

In fact, I think 2K could turn that into a cool little feature branded as a means of seeing which modern teams could "survive" in different eras.

I know all programming stuff is or can be complicated but it didn't seem like the biggest undertaking of all-time when they implemented the era-specific rules in 2K12, so a part of me doesn't think it'd be the craziest thing to re-implement with a little more sauce and versatility.

I think you export his DNA, save it and than import him directly to the Grizz

I think the roster is called Flex (if it's not uploaded, I can do so). It's a work in progress but the gist of it is that all the regular classic teams have updated accessories and a lot of the missing rotation players are filled in.

Some classic teams cover multiple years depending on who you activate. For instance, prime Jason Williams was added to the 2002 Kings in case someone wanted to roll with the 2001 club instead. And Antonio McDyess may be on the 2004 Pistons (to account for a 2005 team).

Some of the All-Time teams have been morphed into other classic teams, such as:

                  1991 Spurs
                  1994 Warriors
                  1997 Bullets
                  2001 Hornets
                  2001 Bucks
1993 Suns (without Richard Dumas... Edit: Now with Dumas, thanks to Sellaz)
                  1989 Knicks

I'm a little preoccupied with Red Dead Redemption 2 so I'm thinking my progress on this roster will be struggling for a while, but that's what I've got so far.

I hope to see a big update where they add all the players they have the rights to into their respective draft classes and teams. Here’s another MyTeam- only player.

Just realized that Purvis Short of the All-time Warriors has all the animations of Vince Carter, including his dunk package. Honestly, I don’t know much about him, so I don’t know if Carter is a fair comparison. Looks like 2k has taken advantage of the player DNA haha. This is like how Baron Davis has Lillard animations and Stephen Jackson has all Rudy Gay animations.

Embarrassing. But not surprising given 2K’s attention to detail with Legends sigs. He had quite a rainbow jumper. Definitely not known for his dunks. Lol.

The legends really need some attention. I think Mark Eaton was listed as having a spin move badge or something. Seriously, I know it crazy but I would love a 2k Classic game with all the focus on the legends. Release it every other year. I'd be fine with that.

I edited the 98 Knicks, 97 heat and 01 nets to try them out and I don't know what it is but the classic teams just don't play right. I can't put my finger on it. I have edited all the regular teams except for 4 so far and I'm loving the gameplay with them but when I play with the classic teams they just feel off. Maybe playbooks are part of the problem as some of the newer classic teams don't have there own playbooks just generic ones but to be honest with the ACE system not working properly none of the teams run much of there playbooks. It's so frustrating to have all these teams but can't get them to play true to life

Not sure exactly if it’s placebo or not, but I think vtcrb’s early tests are showing that resetting player’s DNA is eliminating the alleged “hard coded” aspect of players’ behaviors. Downside is it resets their historical stats. Again the jury is still out on this.
