Legends Teams are fully editable right? Hope even the shorts' lengths can be edited...

Seriously lol. The LeBron fanboyism is off the charts too. Relax people, you can edit ratings. I'm sure you'll make LeBron 99 in everything. [emoji23]

Based on what I read from the other post on how rating is derived, I think comparing with players of the same position will be more relevant.

            Kobe, SG, 6'6 - 98
            MJ, SG, 6'6 - 99 ( this was based on past 2K games )
            Prime Wade, SG, 6'4 - ?
            Klay Thomson, SG, 6'7 - ?
            Joe Dumars, SG, 6'3 - ?

            Now, how about this
            John Stockton, PG, 6'1 - 97
            Isiah Thomas, PG, 6'1 - ?
            Westbrook, PG, 6'3 - ?

2K should have given him a lower rating. Who knows? He may come out of retirement to prove everybody wrong.

With all seriousness, having him at 98 will be fun to run with the classic Lakers. He is quick to cover the guards on the defensive end, drive and finishes high in contact layup and dunks, and have limitless range irl. His 81 pt game at the Raptors and a series of consecutive 40+ games, we need a 98 or 99 rating to accomplish that in 2K.

With the new shooting logic in-place, I dont know how we can ever replicate his irl scoring spree in 2K. He hit so many, way too many contested shots, all over the court, including a few steps away from the 3 point line. He should be "red" for all hotspots.

Not hating at all, just being realistic. I have no reason to hate on Kobe.

Why would he have read hot zones if not shooting high percentages? That doesn't equate at all. And you don't need to be a 98-99 to score a lot of points in 2K. Just make his shot attempts high and he needs his difficult shots and microwave badges maxed.

Kobe's game as a whole is relatively empty outside of scoring. What differentiates him from a lot of the players he's mentioned with is that a player like LeBron can score 15 points and still be the best, most impactful player on the floor. If Kobe has an off shooting night what does he offer? He was a good on ball defender don't get me wrong, but his defense isn't effecting multiple positions and multiple players and no other part of his game stands out or offers much in terms of making players around him better.

His game being void of depth is directly reflected by his stats too. If you look at the advanced stats that reflect overall impact on the game; PER, OWS, DWS, WS, OBPM, DBPM, BPM, VORP, if you look at Jordan he led all players in the playoffs in at least one of those categories 40 times, as of this past season LeBron's done the same feat 42 times. Kobe's total is 1. That's a massive difference. For further comparison Shaq's total is 14, Duncan's is 12, Bird's is 16, Magic's 13. And I'm not just picking playoff stats to prove a point, he's never led any of those categories for a regular season, despite leading the league in usage 3 times. And having a career usage rate higher than even LeBron who's total for the regular season in those categories is 39.

His shooting has never even been at an elite efficiency. Sure he makes lots of hard shots as you eluded to, but a lot of that reflects his ridiculous shooting abundance. He didn't meet a shot he didn't like, and volume shouldn't equate to overall better shooting numbers. Look at his best 4 years 2007/08-2010/11 and compare them to LeBron in his 4 years with Miami. LeBron was better from 0-3 feet, 3-10 feet, 16 feet to the 3 point line, and better from 3 point land. The only section of the floor Kobe shoots better than LeBron is from 10-16 feet, and the free throw line. As far as scoring in general LeBron has a higher career average on better shooting from the field and 3, as points out earlier he's doing it on less usage and also accounting for around 5,000 more points from assists. Even if you take out Kobe's first two years when he didn't start and his years after his injury LeBron is still the more efficient scorer. But Kobe is the one who needs maxed out scoring stats? And this is in comparison to LeBron, who's not even a pure scorer in the sense of Kobe, you can imagine why I find it hard to believe he needs to be close to someone like Jordan if he's not even scoring as well as LeBron.

Again, as stated before I'm not hating on Kobe. He's an all time great, 2nd greatest shooting guard of all time. But when ESPN recently did their top 100 players list and he landed at 11th or 12th whatever it was, I tend to be on the side of the fence that agrees with them.

The Kobe fanboys would **** a brick if he wasn't rated close to Jordan and above LeBron. Also, 2K is based in California so that likely plays a part.

Judging off the other ratings I've seen for these All-Time teams, I don't think the ratings are supposed to be taken all that seriously. The objective seems to be for players to have the most fun possibly with their favorite franchises. No need for all this analysis for fantasy teams lol.

Not keen to compare Kobe with Lbj irl. The no. of championship rings they accomplished, speaks for itself.

And u rightfully pointed out that Kobe doesnt need a 98 rating to accomplish the 81 pt game in 2K. When I looked back, Sam Pham already scored 100 points with Rondo, pointing some major gameplay flaws in 2K17. Lol

I thought 2K17 comes with hot/cold shooting streak by way of circle color below the feet? If a player continuously miss a couple of shots, the blue circle show up. Still able to put up high shot attempts and score 81 pts?

When did Kobe get those new tattoos though? Swear I don't remember seeing those especially on PRIME Kobe.

Ehh when it comes to Heat Lebron idk if I consider him better than prime Kobe. Just thinking about it though he probably is better but the margin is not wide like people make it seem. Kobe should be more of a 94 and if Lebron is higher it should only be because of passing and rebounding/slight defense.

Also, you guys have to think these ratings are probably done with their peak in mind. Like Kobe is probably rated in a way that accounts for his best assist years, best rebounding years, best defensive years, etc etc. It's him at his absolute peak with every skill being boosted to peak level. My opinion

Just lower the dudes rating in your game. Really don't see how this is an issue with people.
