Otherwise, Chauncey Billups, Richard Hamilton, Ben Wallace, Tayshaun Prince, Lindsey Hunter, Elden Campbell, Darvin Ham, and Darko Milicic was a relatively solid base, particularly considering how well created Corliss and Rasheed translated.
The AI isn't nearly good enough to entertain me so I mainly use the historic teams for ranked matches, which is an entirely new rant altogether.

The user created rosters would be awesome if you could create online leagues with them. As it stands I'm forced to work with whatever 2K has officially.

I'm a lifelong pistons fan and I never once used the 04 team. Even without Rasheed, memo or Corliss would have been okay. Darko starting is an insult

Ohhhh, yep, it would have been disastrous for me if I didn't have that option to fix things up. I feel for ya.

I kind of thought this might have been a little like the Charles Barkley situation in 2K12, where 2K added the 1985 76ers with the apparent assumption that he'd come aboard (elsewise they would have just gone with the 1983 team that won a title). I reckon 2K added both the 2000 Blazers and 2004 Pistons assuming Rasheed Wallace would join the fold only for things to fall through.

Selfishly, I'm glad they carried on with the plans to include those teams anyway because I'd much rather have the eight players we do (alongside authentic court and whatnot) with the ability to edit and add (in single player) rather than not having them at all.

Exactly! This is why I want 2k to push for a Pacers team without Reggie and a 90-92 Suns team so pre-Barkley.

Late to the party, but adding to the Tim Duncan discussion. To me he's one of the harder pieces to place in comparison to other greats because a lot of what made him such a great player wasn't stuffing a stat sheet (though he could do that quite well). He was a big piece of maybe the best run of sustained excellence that the league had seen since the Bill Russell days, career wise his accomplishments stack up to just about anyone that's ever played depending on what you're requirements are. And he's the best player to ever play his positron as well.

What makes him hard to judge is because individual talent wise I think he does fall behind a few guys. Kinda like the Hakeem example, or someone like Magic Johnson. I think it's really hard to just number off players like 1, 2, 3, 4, especially when a lot of these guys are so different from one another. I tend to try and lump them into groups rather than label them a certain number, and I've always lumped Tim Duncan in the group of Magic, Bird, Russell, Wilt, that crew of guys.

I guess in terms of my ranking that would be "tier 2" and is basically composed of that would be players numbered 4-8 or 9.

As for 2K, they definitely need a Spurs squad to represent him at his best.

Karl Malone is the same player model from the All time Jazz team which means he is younger and has hair, instead of completely bald as he should be. Being how big of fans of Kobe the 2k development team is, you would think that they would do Kobe justice in all his player models in the game. The 98 and 2001 player models look good but this "old Kobe " that appears to be on both the All time Lakers and the 2004 Lakers, is an ok current Kobe but they should have done better for All time Lakers and 2004.
