I'm sure the fan base has complained about it for years now so I doubt they will take them out any time soon.

You just never know if or when player likeness contracts are up and if they'll decide they want more money or are no longer interested in being included in the game. It might not necessarily be a 2k decision. Kind of like how they can't get Barkley or Miller in the game. I'm sure 2k would gladly add these players and teams if it were up to them.

I just hope there are no major exclusions or removals this year. Sheed not being on the Pistons squad dampered the addition of the team. Kareem being removed for a couple years was disappointing as well. Hopefully we won't get any of those surprises this year.

i'm happy with what they've given us. let's count our blessings and be glad that they kept the old ones in the first place. classic teams are a work in progress... we'll get there. just gotta smack chuck and reggie around a little more.

This is a very subjective selection process; what one might find terrible, others will find fantastic.

Nobody will be entirely pleased.

I'm not sure you can objectively say they are terrible choices for classic teams because: A) Classic doesn't mean old-school, in this case. It means something from 2016 and older. B) I think the problem was that many guys here were hoping for too much. 2K knew why they were not giving out the entire list and instead were asking people what teams they were hoping to see (although the list had been already made a while ago).

Worked like a charm (in a bad way).

Why would anyone care about their likeliness? I couldn't care less since it gives fans enjoyment, a chance to replay your best version and it's just sports! I don't see how it's different from a TV channel showing a classic game with them in it. Some guys are petty too, like Barkley (says NBA doesn't or didn't treat players right as if 2k has something to do with it) and Jabbar obviously wanted a higher rating. Sad isn't it..

I never use classic teams so it doesn't really bother me. But i do find it kinda comical that they're putting teams from the past 5 years in as "classic" teams. I spose they are classic teams to their 14 yr old twitter crowd

I think we gotta give 2K A LOT more credit than y'all are giving them.

Yes we are missing the likes of Barkley, Miller, Sheed and probably a few earlier legends before my time. But it's surely not through lack of trying

Assuming all players are still in from 2K17 Classic teams/MyTeam, plus all notable players from the announced classic teams are in, there is going to be more then enough legends to put together the teams well, sure a name here and there is going to be absent but all in all I fully trust 2K with this

I don't really like using this argument either, but as posters have said they didn't have to put these in the game

One request though, once the all time teams are put together, ANY players they have rights to from MyTeam 2K17 just throw em in a classic free agents pool or something. They could come in handy for roster makers

Every new addition is always welcome, i don't see how you can be sad about it. It's great that they get new ones in. And for the most part i like most of the teams included to classics and i'm excited about them. It was something they didn't have to do in the first place so i'm grateful..

I don't think it's a problem for folk to be a little upset that teams they wanted didn't make the cut, for whatever reason.

I'm not a fan of the current NBA, haven't been really since MJ and the majority of the 90's stars all started retiring - I would've much preferred the classic teams to be comprised of teams from past eras instead of squads we literally had on our screens but 5 years ago. Seems like a bust to me.

As much as I appreciate all the efforts 2k put into the game, I can't personally be happy for the inclusion of a bunch of teams I'll never use.

Sure a lot of you guys will have fun with these squads though, so good luck to ya.

"Terrible choices" is subjective.

Anyone assuming what 2k did or did not have in mind... is speculation.

Basically someone hears "We believe..." is "THEY SAID 'WE BELIEVE' AS IN 2007 WE BELIEVE WARRIORS IS IN THE NEXT GAME"... um, that might be taken too literal, as in "Classic" may be taken too literal also.

Classic in 2K refers to a Bill Russell Celtics team, but hey oh look there's a 2014 Heat team there also (funny how it's been sitting there in front of our faces for oh what, a couple of years now?).

Why hell, on TV, the NBA Hardwood Classics channel recently showed a 2015-16 Warriors/Cavs game... maybe these OS peeps should inform the NBA what a "real" NBA Hardwood Classic team is, since the ******* NATIONAL BASKETBALL ASSOCIATION APPARENTLY WOULDN'T KNOW.

A large percentage of people but the game for classic content lmao people spend money on MyTeam to get different color cards of these players lmao you'll see youtube flooded with videos of that very thing, and you should check the roster, and brand creation corners of the web. Its apparent. 2k wouldn't include classic content or spend money on player licensing and resources on classic player faces, animations, etc... if they didn't feel it had a significant value to their franchise.



Hence why the Euro clubs were so below half assed. They know it was a cool idea but does not generate money. So 90 percent of the euro players didn't have face scans, no Euro players are included in MyTeam, etc...

Based on what? What percentage exactly? Over half? You have the numbers to back that up? I wanna see a detailed breakdown of how often classic teams are used, which ones are used most, in what modes, etc. Please and thank you. Until then, stop speaking with authority. You've been doing so in every classic thread, with nothing to back it up but a sense of entitlement and anecdotal evidence. It's growing tiresome.

If they ditched them completely, I wouldn't bother buying the game anymore.
