Re: Charles Barkley on why he isn't in 2K18
Yeah. They're in the business of handing out millions like candy...
And it's not even 1 million. It's 1 million he wants every year. it's a stupid demand and frankly I don't want them to give in because next year 10 players will want more because Charles got more. Doesn't matter that it went to the union.
And I'm sorry, but I'm not slicing onions over ex millionaires that squandered their money. I can sympathize because many were not equipped to handle it properly but on my list of people that need help broke NBA players are not high on my list of charities.
Yes Chuck is free to demand whatever he wants and 2K is free to tell him to jump in a lake. I don't like the end result but I'm on 2Ks side on this 100%.
I hope they get it done.Comment

Re: Charles Barkley on why he isn't in 2K18
There's a guy on twitter who has been giving info that has been legit. He posted about Kobe and KG being on the broadcast team yesterday and Steve just posted that info on twitter. This guy has been saying for weeks that Barkley isn't on any teams but will be in the game on with Ernie, Shaq and Kenny so I guess we'll see.Comment

It's not a stupid demand. We would all want a little something for our likeness being used

Re: Charles Barkley on why he isn't in 2K18
NBA 2K made at least half a bill last year not even counting VC sales. Why not, not only donate this but when you do donate it, try and get those player likenesses as well if they're already not in the game?
Then you can add more to the game, get Chuck and really, for all that people (including myself) pay with buying VC, you're getting all that extra cash anyways. If we can have Kendrick Lamar on the soundtrack which probably costs quite a bit of cash, you're telling me we can't have someone to actually play as in the game?Comment

Re: Charles Barkley on why he isn't in 2K18
It's not 2k's responsibility to donate money to the players association, and I hope they never even give it a second thought.
Chuck doesnt ask
T-Mobile
Taco Bell
Weight Watchers
or any of his other endorsements to do it.
He wants the company who is ALREADY paying retired legends, some who dont have the luxury of other incomes...to bend over backward to get his likeness.
He simply doesnt care about video games and if you read between the lines, clearly wasnt happy with the amount of money 2k offers...so he's going to make it as difficult as possible.
Time to stop chasing a dude that doesnt share your enthusiam and focus on these players jumping at the opportunity...Comment

He's also not asking the freaking NBA which is mind boggling
Forget him

What are you talking about?

Re: Charles Barkley on why he isn't in 2K18
This man is delusional. I read that he wants a yearly donation of a million, but even if it's just a 1 time fee, it's not worth it to 2K. Their game does perfectly fine without him, and I don't think they should even entertain it. If they signed a deal with the retired player's association that'd make all of their likenesses available, then that'd make sense, but a 7 figures for just Barkley? Get the F outta here lmaooooComment

Re: Charles Barkley on why he isn't in 2K18
Ive always wondered, if 2k negotiated some sort of deal for TNT presentation rights, could that somehow include both Reggie Miller and Charles Barkley? Or could the relationship they build through that have the Turner execs pressure those two to appear as commentators in the game eventually?
Those old Sony NBA: The Inside games had TNT presentation, so im sure 2k could pull it off.Last edited by BMA68; 08-26-2017, 09:04 PM.Comment
