His rating is the same as 2K17. He also is likely a SF as a 79 OVR. He will likely start as the PF this season so if you change him to PF then his OVR will drop.

I think Simmons is going to be the better playmaker this year compared to Fultz. He's going to be a match up problem for nearly every team in the league.

Fultz should be able to play off-ball much more effectively than Simmons, only makes sense to give Simmons a good chunk of the playmaking duties. I don't see why they'd try to turn him into a quasi 3 & D guy, talk about square peg/round hole.

He profiles better to me as a point forward, but with Fultz there he's not going to see a ton of time starting in that role.

I think he'll do serious damage as a second unit leader at the one, but with the rest of the starters he'll have a more limited role and less of an opportunity to excel with his strengths, IMO.

Fair enough. This is a well thought out response. I agree that everything you mentioned are some concerns.

I just believe that him and Embiid are seen as the primary guys on the team so he will get preferential treatment when compared to Fultz and especially Saric. He is the best passer on the team by far and he can be placed at the 4 because of his size and lack of shooting (which he might have improved on).

I'd be very interested in seeing him at the four, but I'm concerned he'll get bullied in the post there. He's not slight by any means, but if I'm an opposing coach and I see Simmons at the four, I'd stick in one of my bruisers and play some bully ball.

Yes, Simmons will be faster and quicker offensively than my bully four, but his outside shot (until proven otherwise) renders him only effective as a cutter or driver. I can funnel him to my best defenders if that's the case.

I feel like, optimally, Simmons can be an Australian version of the Greek Freak IF Philly trusts him like that. The Bucks aren't afraid of playing Giannis anywhere, but Kidd is unorthodox. I don't know if Philly will be that brave, especially with Simmons and Embiid both coming back from injuries.

Since he will be surrounded by a solid starting 5 where everyone else can shoot (Fultz, Reddick, Saric, and Embiid), I doubt it will be a major issue like you think. I agree that he needs to improve on it big time since the spacing he will provide would be of tremendous value for both him and the team. Embiid improving his shot has given me hope that he will too, to some extent at least.

laughing at the responses but agree with the rating. His rating should not be any different than last year. To those thinking he cant shoot I can only laugh he has been working on his shot and his rating will increase once he prooves it. Dont be surprised to see 3pt range. He needed summer league to justify what exactly?

As a 76ers fan, this is exactly where he should be. Keeping the same rating as last year just makes sense. I don't see how anyone can argue that. I wish he went to summer league to have a more defined rating but eh...

Well he hasn't played yet and he can't shoot and I'm sure he's not s great team defender yet

79 seems perfect for a true rookie

I dont have a problem with the rating but using the excuse that he hasn't played yet is a cop out. While Fultz and Ball played in the summer league this year, it is still the summer league after all, and they are rated 80 each!

Most of their competition won't be on NBA teams and they haven't played an NBA game yet. For comparison, Jordan McRae regularly dominated in the summer league and D-League but sucks when playing against low level NBA players. Kae Felder is another example of this.

What are those 2 ratings?

Edit: Saw that Towns is gonna be a 91 up from 89 last year. Still don't think Embiid is 3 points away from being a player who avg. 25pts and 12rebs. Sorry.
If you want to base it on averages Embiid literally averaged more than Towns per 36. Embiid averaged 28.7pts 11.1rebs and 3.5 blks per 36 last year. 20 8 2.5 per game in just 25MPG. Towns averaged 25 12 1.3 in 37 MPG last season.
Based on not being able to stay healthy then sure, he's not comparable. But you can't base it on stats. When Embiid was on the court he dominated.

He was a 79 last year.

He didn't play this past year.

He should be an 86 this year.

Dude, the only reason he should be pissed is the fact that like 80 percent of the other players in he game are rated 74-78 which is pretty close to him. The game overrates bench and role players

He was also a FAR better defender. Embiid was proving to be one of the best rim protectors in the NBA when he was out there. KAT is still a below average defensive player (but I suspect he will turn it around soon, if not this year).

Embiid's on court production easily warrants an 86+ rating. Of course, he's always injured though.. so idk.. rating him is hard.

Just lower his durability to 40 or something then problem solved.

He didn't play a single minute last season, what the **** did he expect? If he wants 2k to give him a higher overall, play some games and dominate as he's supposed to do, just like his team mate Embiid. If possible, avoid more injuries unlike Embiid.
