The game looks and plays great for the most part, no problem with the framerate, but my God, the button/input lag is making it tough to play man... Sure hope the patch fixes this, and it comes quickly.

You start it, I'll finish it.

NBA 2K fan since day 1.

OK, had the chance to get a couple of games in this afternoon/evening. Here's my initial thoughts:

-The game looks and performs better in handheld mode. The game doesn't look bad in docked mode, but does feel a little washed out and more akin to the PS3/360 ... I guess you could say the Switch version of 2K18 is what the game would look like if such a thing as a PS3.5 existed.

-The options for creating your player appear to be very limited. I couldn't even add facial hair.

-Framerate is stable for the most part. There's a few slowdowns when graphic overlays appear on the screen. I'm usually not a framerate snob, but man, you'll definitely notice the difference in 30 FPS as compared with 60 FPS.

-Controls do seem a little sluggish and are definitely sensitive with the joycons. I had several instances where I tried passing one direction and the ball went another way. You really have to be spot on with your aiming. The pro controller is great to use in docked mode.

-Overall, I'm VERY HAPPY with the game! It's awesome to have the ability to play a full-featured NBA 2K game on the go or at home. This is a great first effort on the Switch by 2K.

Re: NBA 2K18 - Nintendo Switch

Figured it'd be helpful to provide a take from someone who also purchased the XBO/PS4 version and also has a pro controller.

Compared to those versions, the Switch version is definitely a notch down in visuals, but that is not knocking the game in any way. I have still come across very impressed with what they have been able to accomplish for a console that is mainly purchased by most for it's handheld capabilities. The frame rate difference is noticeable, but doesn't really detract once you are actually in a game.

Both docked and handheld mode play very well, but like someone else said earlier, I was puzzled as to why the my player customization options are so limited.

Lag is present in both handheld or docked mode, and this is regardless of you playing with the joy cons or pro controller. You can definitely get used to it, but it can definitely affect your jump shot timing. I'm sure 2K has to keep this in mind and will have a patch before retail release.

Overall, very impressed! To have this title released on the Switch with very little compromise is impressive. Glad to be able to play this anywhere, and I could see this potentially being the console I play it on the most over time. Here's to hoping WWE2K18 is just as good and that sales lead to more of our favorite sports games releasing on the Switch in the future.

You can add facial hair at the barber shop. Can't do it when creating your guy, unfortunately

I found they have a large thread on Reddit about the corrupting save file issue. 2k is aware of it and working to fix it.

Another thing I noticed last night while playing My Career in The Neighborhood: I was getting weird audio drops in the cut scenes before and after my first game. The game was fine as was running around in the neighborhood, but just right before and after the game.

I don't want to sound like I'm being a Negative Nellie, because I still am in awe about being able to play this game on the go. The basketball part and broadcast presentation pieces have been fantastic, just some other issues outside the gameplay.

Isn't the point of a barber shop to trim up hair, not add it?

Bad jokes aside, thanks for the info. I won't be playing that career mode anyway, so no worries, just in the past you had access to a larger creation suite.

Played a full 12-min. quarters game on Superstar, with the 76ers (me) hosting the Rockets. Houston won 115-101, but game really wasn't that close. The Rockets definitely played true to life, taking 44 3-pointers! They averaged just over 40 per game last year, so again, pretty spot-on.

Houston shot close to 60% from the floor and scored 68 points in the first half, while Philly hovered around 35%. Second half I held the Rockets to 44%, but again, that hot first half really was the difference in the game.

                              Really enjoyed the game overall.

Re: NBA 2K18 - Nintendo Switch

I am loving the game on Switch in general, though am having trouble with MyPlayer (and I realized the overall account glitches...but I'm not sure if this is part of it?):

1: When I first booted up the game I was unable to connect online, so I created the base MyPlayer and did a couple play now games and was on my way.

2: The next time I booted up the game and connected, the screen to create my MyPlayer account came up. So I created it with my email (which is the same email I've used in the past when I had 2K on Xbox 360, and then on PS3 and PS4.) I never received an email to confirm my account. Yesterday, the game said I had to re-create my account because I never confirmed it. So I re-created it, and still haven't received a confirmation email.

3: In trying to start the MyPlayer mode, my player is locked in as a Small Forward, and I don't know the archetypes. I wanted to create a stretch 4 this year (usually I do a pass-first PG), but don't see how to change this now.

I'm still early in gameplay. Obviously haven't started a MyCareer yet. I'm only 3 games into MyGM mode. And I've just played a couple MyTeam challenges...so I'm not too concerned with losing progress right now. Do I need to just delete everything end start all over? Has anyone else had trouble with setting up a MyCareer account on Switch?
