Re: NBA 2K18 Run The Neighborhood Trailer and Details
That's the craziest thing imo. We've seen other sports franchises maybe add a story mode or some feature and tweak a couple of other things.
2k, they add this revolutionary mode, add authentic cap details, classic teams, implement crazy AI logic, etc.

But, like Da_Cazr said you can't please everybody.
Personally, I'm a 100% MyLeague guy. However, I can see myself playing this while waiting for some players to be added, sliders to get worked out, draft classes, etc. Even as a hardcore MyLeague guy I'm intrigued by this mode and am excited to see what it's all about. My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague

I will preorder right now if you can fight people off the court, I'll swing on a random if they play like pure poop

I've been a massive critic of 2k through the 17 cycle, but I have to hold my hands up to what they've done with the neighbourhood. The ability of the servers have me on edge, as does the monetising every tiny detail like haircuts, but I can't argue with how this looks.Comment

By 2k20 this gonna be a Meek Mill song "Fouled him hard, said I'll be back."

That would be cool if someone from 2K could communicate about it and announce a date for a blog... or notComment

Casuals = cash why do you think the rest of the industry jumped on that story mode fam ? Cause they see we outsold madden.
But I do think more than any other company in our position we still cater to all of our customer base. Even those whose impact on the bottom line is minimal.
That does not mean that every base gets everything they want every year.
Between MyLeague, Play now and the ridiculous roster of classic teams, all the content in MyTeam, My GM, heavy emphasis on AI improvements and game-play improvements...
Surely every part of our fan base has "something" that appeals to them
And that is with no mention of all the content and stuff available in the Neighborhood.
You can't please everyone but at least we try.

No regular pedestrians on the street? I'm thinking in the future pedestrians can be points for side missions, 'hey can you go over there and pick up a package for me?' accept or don't accept.

We can even go beyond what's normal in a sports game or any game and this EXPAND, create our own players, teams, courts, jerseys and share them across the board. This open world might not be everyone's thing, but at least 2k is trying to be innovative and improve. There's plenty of games who just repeat the same formula, while 2k always changes and tweaks things to the point where even after 1 year the game can be changed in ways that other games do not even do in 2-3 years.
Also, they listen to the fans and interact with them. For a fan of the Mortal Kombat franchise for example, I can tell you that they do not interact with them and hardly listen to them. All in all, 2k is setting the bar pretty much for basketball, sports and even games in general I believe. It's incredible what they do, even with some misses here and there. They could easily do what they like, occasionally check what fans want and give them a bone. Most companies who are smart listen and try to take something, but 2k is going above and beyond to please all different kinds of fans. It's one thing if people complain about a game when it clearly caters to one specific group, but 2k is trying to cater to ALL. That is nothing short of praiseworthy!Comment

Damn straight! IF there's one thing 2k does is try very hard to get everything right and expand each and every year. What other sports game / company can say they've added classics to begin with and then to add on to almost a 100 teams with hundreds of players?! Who can say they've done so many hours of scanning players, jerseys, arenas and everything to get that right?
