Re: New CAP system
They revamped the whole thing so I'm hoping that they just moved some stuff around. I really hope that sculpting is still around and it's just in another section.
2k isn't exactly known for having intuitive UI lol

Re: New CAP system
The CAP creator in 2K18 actual regressed, facial hair is tied together now instead of mixing beards, mustaches, stubble & sideburns like in 2K17. There's no cheeks, asymmetry, blemishes, discoloration, freckles & pock marks options also. They removed the freedom of sculpting and added number presets for noses, mouth, chins, skull height, skull width.
Quicker creations, less detailed players. Don't expect one CAP creator to stand out over the other. Still no tattoos and I dont know about body types yet.Comment

Re: New CAP system
I am hoping this is all just speculation, but the fact they are giving so many preset options is NOT a good sign. There were aspects of last gen's cap system that was better such as being able to rotate the eyes instead of using presets. 2K's silence on the topic leads me to believe they are aware there will be a negative reaction.

Well these are the only sections available when creating a player. I think it's safe to say there's no more sculpting, at least for MyPlayer.
As for changing the players skin tone, unless it's in "Vitals" for some reason, I don't see any option for that eitherComment

Re: New CAP system
dm conversation.
did you get to check out the cap creator
I did.. I'm worried it won't allow for as much variation.. which is what infamous was saying...i believe. Still need to mess with it a bit, but i have a vid coming. You'll see what i mean
That is available, but I'm worried about faces
i think you may be right there. You'll be able to make some really good ones, but i just don't like that they've made a system that has seemingly taken more control away. if my suspicions are correct, I'll say this aspect of the game has regressed
hopefully we get that vid soon to answer all these questions.Comment

Re: New CAP system
It might be...again 2k did say that they revamped that CAP system. They also have a history of having a convoluted UI. So I wouldn't be surprised that things got moved around.Comment

Re: New CAP system
Well damn. I guess they are going for more realistic CAPs but less ability to recreate the likeness of other players. I read where somebody in another feed suggested it would be an upgrade. Without being able to recreate actual players likenesses it is NOT an upgrade.

Re: New CAP system
We can only hope there's a different cap system for rosters and classes but honestly I don't see what the point of it would be.
Why would they allow you to sculpt the faces on the Offline CAP system but not for your MyPlayer? But then again, they let you put tattoos on your myplayer but not in the offline CAP system so you never knowComment
