Re: New CAP system
This post perfectly resumes how I play the game too. I am 35, I play 1 hour a day when I can.
I play this game exactly like you do, with a little difference. I used to pick a REAL PLAYER and fully edit him. Name, weight, height, bdate, attributes, put him on a rebuilding team and play myleague.
I used to pick a player who was on euroleague roster, Patric Young. He is not on this roster, and it sucks because I can't find a player who would fit my character. They all look too thin this season. I wanted to pick Thomas Robinson who's a monster in real life but in the game he's as thin as Kevin Durant.
So I tried to create a player but still, it's extremely difficult to create the player you want with this Cap system.
The NICKNAME OBLIGATION is just stupid.
Just like it's stupid that in 2017 I cannot just upload a HD picture and create a cyberface from that picture. we used to do it with an editor on NBA LIVE from 1998 on (PC), and 20 years after we cannot do it.
I agree with your points 100% I was trying to find a post from last year that talked about a bit of fear from 2k that if they knew how many users enjoyed this style of play e.g. Created Player/Player Lock try to win a championship, My League etc. They could possibly limit the features to continue too drive players to My Career. I have not touched MY Career since NBA 2k14 and when I figured out CAP and Player Lock that was the end of that.
Yes we should have face scan, CAP interviews where CAP players should talk as well as countless other things that could enhance this style of play. But they reality is it's been almost 5 years now and I am sure everyone has seen and read these types of post. But no strides to enhance the experience.
Body types this year are kind of a joke because when I think about body types on a simplicity level. It's sculpt my body to look like Kyrie or Westbrook not move the weight slider and see the thickness of my overall body change! I am not sure where the miscommunication is as I know the details have been widely discussed around these forums.
I am thankful that we have the flexibility that we have now in the game. Like changing up our CAP look midseason praise whoever for this extremely long time coming feature. But the CAP system is ruined this year until they patch what looks like the missing sections from 2k17.
The sculpting options are still in the menu even after the latest patch but show up blank! The AD from the graphic hype video really should share his thoughts behind the removal of features from the CAP system. But then again he does not owe anyone an explanation!
2k18 is great granted I do not know everything about basketball and even though I am a huge baseball fan. Posting here to say the game is above and beyond. I feel like one of those outsiders who post in the show forums and claim its the best baseball game ever. When from a realistic baseball perspective that game has so many basic fundamentals to improve on before coining that title. Opposed to someone who lives and breathes basketball and can pick apart the game easily.
But I will say this when I play 2k I feel like I am a reflection of myself on the court. Movement, Animation expectations etc and that makes me feel like I am in the experience of a real NBA game. Even though this is not a about gameplay specifics. It's about showing this style of how a lot of users play the game some much needed love. Not sold on waiting for the next couple of iterations for it too happen! 5 years is a long time but still thankful for what we have in NBA 2k18.Proud member of the 0.04%Comment

Re: New CAP system
Have they said whether they are going to make wingspans editable for existing players again? I was really hoping that we get wingspans in inches instead of 0-100 this year, so to lose the ability to edit them at all is frustrating.
I apologize if the answer to this has been provided already, I hadn't seen it yet in a thread.Comment

Taking away our ability to edit shoulder width, wingspan and torso length almost kills the game for me.
So many players with t-rex arms, too wide of shoulders/frames and way too long of torsos/short legs. Giannis is really bad.Comment

Re: New CAP system
Is there anyways to get updates for already existing rosters that's local but not shared? I created a roster for MyLeague before Lakers had their sponsors...now that they have Wish as a sponsor it's not in my already created rosters.Comment

Re: New CAP system
Considering this is also a 2K game, this makes me mad more than anything. How can this be so detailed, while their NBA game has one of the worst CAP systems ever for this and last gen?Comment

Re: New CAP system
Look at Paul George and Exum's t-rex arms. How did they think that's ok? Or Giannis' long torso/short legs? Or guys with way too wide of shoulders/frames?
Then they think it's ok to take the ability to edit these things out of our hands, when it's been in the game forever?
I guess I shouldn't be shocked considering the bodies that were in last years game, too.Comment

Re: New CAP system
It may be because 2k18 is kind of like 2k14 in the sense that they are starting over and adding so many new things this time that they decided to include a limited CAP system (Like 2k14) hoping to build on it in the future..EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.Comment

Re: New CAP system
Sorry, weak excuse...How can you decide to take away so many customization options (talking about the body types and CAP system) while people were complaining they wanted MORE customization options?
It sounds like when you were a kid and crying cause your parents gave you only a small portion of icecream and instead of adding they would take that away too to teach you a lesson.
Doesn't make sense at all
They took many steps back from 2k17, that had already taken many steps back...I really don't understand what they are doing.
I'm tired to always have to think "next year the game will be fixed and amazing" then next year comes and in many aspects it gets worstComment

Re: New CAP system
It's absolutely disrepectful that they cannot give us a BODY TYPE option like
THIN - NORMAL - STRONG
we are talking about features we used to have since year 2000.Last edited by garypayton; 10-03-2017, 06:20 PM.Comment

Re: New CAP system
This CAP System is so limited, I hate it. I tried to create the missing 2wayPlayers and other undrafted Rookies to start MyLeague, but when you use (or have to use) a Headpreset more often they look like Twins.
You can go out an in till Eyecolour and Brows are ok – but you cannot even change the SKINTONE…..!!
Facial Hair is also a mess. I heard you can create now 450 Players, that’s ok for Draftclass or Collegeroster Creators but in fact you will have 31 different looking Guys (and Bodytypes)…….
PLEASE 2K !!!
Next Patch should be a working MyLeague and the CAP-System !!!

Re: New CAP system
I just love how WWE 2k is able to make their default CAP faces look so real, without having to sacrifice customization freedom... it's like they just scan facial features, instead of full blown faces....which is why you can do so much editing to the presets (unlike in NBA 2k18)Comment
