I'm pretty sure 50 = 4 inches longer. If you give a player in a draft class a 50 wingspan, and then go into the "Prospect Scouting" section of myleague, their wingspan will be 4 inches longer than their height

I thought it was a joke that you have more options to edit a coach than a player... until I checked it. 230 presets vs 30 presets lmao.

While half of them won’t suit players since they are “old coach” presets the rest are probably better than what they have in actual CAP. Better variety in skin tones, better hairlines... Its mad that Coach editor that is hidden in create roster has better looking models than actual create a player

That is crazy. A lot of the coach presets look way too young for me but there are still a lot of options.

230 faces which you cant change at all. Compare that to the 30+ faces and multiply those 30 faces to the number of eyes/nose/chin combination. Just cause it says 230+ heads doesnt mean more options.

I do agree they need to fix the cap feature though. Maybe add more presets.

Also, included in those presets are:

                - Each CAP preset (with no hair or facial hair)
                - Jason Maxiell, Francisco Garcia, Garrett Temple, Trey Burke, Archie Goodwin and a few others
                - Steve Kerr
                - A decent number of current players with new hair/remolded faces (Steve Blake, Ryan Kelly, Nikola Pekovic) and/or skin tone adjustements (I think I saw Zach LaVine & Wayne Selden)
                - Mike Wang (twice)

Also included are the heads from high school (2K16) and college players from 2K16 and 17. Lord knows I played it enough to know. I think i saw your MC agent from 2K15s head model. I hope 2K blows out the cap next year. It be cool though if they could add these heads as options for this year.

If I'm not mistaken a lot of those HS/Colelge players were 2k employees. I thought I remember seeing LD2k and Ronnie Singh in there in 2k16.

The last 30 coaches heads are the 30 pre set heads in the CAP system minus the hair.

Has anyone seen anything post or interview related to offer any insight too help defend their decision this year with CAP! Especially since the AD in the launch trailer was touting the customization feature for CAP.

After many hours of trying I have come to the conclusion that I just can't get anyone to resemble my features as I play with player lock. I also fast forwarded in MY League and everyone looks the same its highly noticeable you can see the base face in every rookie! along with the part in their hairstyle yikes!

Any official insight would be huge for us!

I was totally looking forward to nba 2k18 this year. I normally biy every other release so i enjoyed 2k16 for the last two years. I do enjoy 2k18, i think the movement is nice although the offensive rebounding is a little off...

But with CAP? im pretty pissed.

I LOVE downloading old rosters, or certain players that i would like to create. 2k really messed up by screwing up the CAP. Stupid neighborhood and VC gains. Sadly nothing we say will really change anything. I play offline myleague. I havent even tried Mygm because of the story i heard they make you do.

Rebrands? You can only have like 3 before you have to save them online. Well guess what i cant even do that because i dont have internet so i cant even change all the old teams with names like 03-04 pistons to just pistons because i have too many historic teams in myleague.

Its all rubbish and it makes me not want to buy it again. Have i enjoyed the game? Yes. Do they keep selling us an unfinished product? Absolutely.

Edit: i was really excited when i heard that the automatic crwated drafts would have a lot more different looking character's than before....until i realized they gave us some nicer looking characters but gave us less than 1/2 the customization we had before.

I honestly don't think that it needs defending. They went with a new CAP system. It is more limited, but it produces more realistic looking players. Playing ML this year I'm loving the way rookies look now. I drafted the pg of the future for the Knicks in one ML. Hes has been a stud and he actually looks like he belongs in the same graphical universe as Kristaps. Going into his 3rd season I gave him (as well as a edited a few other game generated players) a full beard and fro to change it up. It really makes the league feel like its evolving. I've also noticed other players with his face, so it limited. It's the first year of a new system, though. I think we need like 100 more head presets, ability to change skin tones and sculpting like last year and everyone would be happy.

I agree Junior that CAPS look much better even though the tools are limited. My hope is that if they don't go with a complete sculpting system like 2k17 in 2k19 that they try the following:

Keep system the same BUT add the selection of features such as skin color, eyes, chin , etc based on a preset along with that slider. For example, let's say you choose appearance 31 as your base(1st choice you can make in the 2k18 CAP menu). Next, you could choose Skin Tone and you choose Appearance 5(Which would be the color tone of head preset 5), Skull Width (Appearance 1)+slider, etc, etc. This would help creativity a great deal because there are many eyes, lips, etc that are impossible to put on certain presets and this would alleviate that issue..

This on top of more hair and facial hair options would go a long way in improving this CAP system

EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.
