This would be so awesome. Young Ray Allen, Shaq, Malone. Short hair kobe. But I honestly doubt it’s possible. Seems like a very difficult thing to implement.

WOW... Stopping my current roster projects and holding out for 2k19.. This sounds amazing, maybe the best CAP set up we've had.

Just to clarify, all of this will work for CAP and roster editing right? Like I don't have to start a my-league any time I want to just have a custom roster?

Also, for the love of God can we PLEASE add/remove headbands to players already in the game?..

And do we have better facial hair options? Sideburns back please? It just says "50 options" we had that this year and they were basically trash. No real mustache options, no real goatees, no sideburns at all. That needs to be fixed... Facial hair, stubble, mustache, and side burns should all be separate categories the way they used to be.

I'm kind of torn on how much freedom we really have when it comes to "sculpting" since it's labeled as sculpting sliders now.

Sculpting to me is moving the analog.

Hopefully its just a simplified interface of the regular sculpting and the amount of options in 2K19 match the freedom of moving the analog.

Yeah same here. As much as everything sounds good and I wanna be excited, I’m going to have to see a demonstration on how everything works before I go ahead and preorder the game

Instead of showing us a generic preset CAP, they should have created someone like LeBron or Steph Curry to really display the depth and accuracy of the new system

Yeah true having a slider kinda limits how much we can "sculpt". Hopefully the slider goes up to 100 instead of 30

                Re: New CAP system

Not to be the one to hate on good news, just listened to part of the audio and it sounds as if there is still no separate features for options like mustache and sideburns etc... I love how amazing these improvements sound, but surely with how 2k really pays attention to feedback they realize that a good chunk of players use the CAP feature to create legends right?

All the hair options last year basically were "new style" hair options with fades rather than full hair. Meaning no "classic" full hair, small afros, no sideburns, none of that. I'm worried it's going to be the same as far as that aspect goes this year which is a big disappointment to me. The guy basically laughed at the notion that you would add sideburns and a mustache to a cap... But that's exactly what many of us classic roster guys want to be able to do...

Just seems strange they would go to all this effort to overall the CAP and not include those type of things. People weren't complaining that the CAP system as broken last year in regards to making fictional guys.. They were upset because they couldn't recreate past players accurately any more. Surely they understand that and I'm reading into this wrong right?

Not sure about facial hair, but it's already been mentioned as far as the hair on top, they have first time ever options like choosing hair length for each style and being able to put custom shave designs (probably from a preset list) on different areas of the hair style. That opens a lot of opportunity for great legend CAPs.

He said only a small percent of hair actually had editable length. Which is great that some of them have that option, doesn’t do much good if they are still all fades at the bottom though. That would cause the same issue as 2k18’s hair.

If I recall it was the mohawk and dreads that got the treatment.

My bad, I must have got it mixed up with something else he said was first-time ever.

From the blog: "And finally, FULLY customize the style and color of the Hair. Many hairstyles also allow for the customization of the length of the hair (very cool), the pattern shaved into the hair (think lines, Jumpman logos, etc.), control over the fade, and even how you shape the hair corner on the back of the neck (are you a round or a sharp corner kind of person?)."

I am extremely excited and optimistic about historic draft classes and what that could potentially mean for creating past teams/legends they don't have the rights to. My question is they said that if you copy a players DNA then that player is fully editable. I assume that means their player models appearance, and not just their gear. If that is the case, then specifically I'm wondering could I take say 2013 Miami Heat LeBron player model copy him and edit his facial hair to a stubble instead of a full beard so you could have his 2009 LeBron appearance? Provided that they don't include the 2009 Cavaliers team, or take 2007 LeBron and edit his facial hair to a goatee to make him more closely resemble 2005 Cavaliers LeBron? Really hoping these draft classes have player models that actually are true to their draft class year physical appearance. Like 2003 Draft Class LeBron should not look like current LeBron's player model. However if there are mistakes in terms of hair or facial hair, will we be able to edit those features? Really interesting if you wanted to edit the all time Spurs Dennis Rodman for example and give him a blonde Mohawk. Those additions could be huge for roster makers.

You can edit them if they're CAPs, not if they're scanned or artist-created player models.
