Best Buy gives you the $10 reward even if you preorder the digital version. You won't get the 20% off for gamers club but you'll still get $10 rewards for digital.

Best place to get game from?

Definitely going digital. 2K is a year round game for me so it's no point of getting the disc. Also buying through Xbox Live, it'll already be downloaded when the game releases so I don't have to wait until it downloads on release day.

It's also a lot more convenient. Just click the 2K18 app and I am playing. Also game sharing doesn't hurt at ALL. Getting games by going half or taking turns. Can't beat that.

I would only consider getting the disc if it was a game I know I wouldn't play long so I could sell it somewhere.

Can anyone else confirm that you don't have to preorder to buy the game on Sept 15 at GameStop or other retailers? Someone earlier mentioned this.

I'd expect them to put them up by Friday. That's a week from the pre-order release.

Madden didn't go up until around the same time frame this year.

I think Amazon is doing this to get around their Prime video game discount. Trying to get that extra few bucks from impatient people who were looking into getting a physical copy, but decide to go digital instead because they can't wait to pre-order a few more days.

Went digital this year. I never trade in early, and with me moving, I won't be able to pick mine up Friday morning...so I'll preload it

Not sure about PS4, but on Xbox if you set your 'home xbox' to your friends Xbox, and then buy the game. You can both play it as long as you have a constant internet connection. If you lose internet, the game doesn't register as being owned by you because it's owned by whatever is set as your 'home xbox' so your friend of choice can play said game whenever, even offline. Me and my cousin have done this since we got our Xbox's. We each set other as home Xbox and then we just switch back and forth between who buys what game.

Oh I should be explicitly clear. This ONLY works for DIGITAL purchases.

Was going to get the physical copy from Best Buy since they are offering $10 and I'm a gamer's club member so its cheaper. However, after reading posts if you buy the digital copy looks you get to play the game right away instead of having to wait like 4 hours for the game to download plus you still still get the $10.

So for me I will definitely be getting it from Best Buy but the question for me is do I save $12 by buying the physical copy or do I want to play the game right away and thus not save $12

You can also buy a $60 Xbox live gift card right now from Amazon for $54 saving $6 that way too

I've done this before, but it was for 2K14 if I remember correctly, may have changed since but I doubt it. They have copies for the "early release", so if you just go in and ask and the guy at the counter isn't an *** who wants to reject business, you should be good.

For those of you who have bought digitally from Best Buy, how soon does Best Buy send the code and how soon can you play? Would you be able to start playing like say at midnight?
