yeah Dwyane Wade and Kevin Durant has ugly portrait in nba 2k18. both has same one from 2k17.. SMH.. 2ksports are so lazy for change new portrait on players

Oh stop. They aren't lazy. This rhetoric is getting very tiresome on this forum. It's just blatantly false based on the number of additions and changes to the game. Player portraits might not be a huge priority, but they also have no action shots available in the new Nike jerseys. Hell, only a handful of players have even done photo shoots. Not to mention, it could change on the day one patch.

I'd rather they just make everyone's picture be in game player models.

Even this would be fine. It would be the easiest thing that 2K could do. They wouldn't have to worry about acquiring pictures of players, and they would better avoid screw-ups.

Example: 2K17 had Tyler Ulis' picture on Marquese Chriss, and the picture of Doug McDermott was his old Bulls picture with the wrong jersey number.

I can't recall where I read it but the portraits will be changed with Patch 1.

It has to be updated right? They did it last year. I remember they fixed the Marquese Chriss issue last year (even though it's in this year's game again)

I'm 90% sure it will be updated. Gotta remember guys, they haven't even had training camp yet. A lot of the guys on new teams haven't been pictured in their new jerseys, etc. They probably have new pictures ready for a lot of the veterans and are just waiting for rookies/players who changed teams before they drop it all in one update.

Some of us would really love the option to turn player portraits off so every player appears with their character model.

It looks so messy when half the team is player portraits and the other half is character models.

All the MyTeam cards have new portraits so I don't see how it wouldn't be hard to simply take portraits from those.

This is one thing that is actually really bothering me more than it should. Specifically Joel Embiids photo is still from when he was drafted.

It's annoying because of old uniforms but since the season doesn't even start yet how do they get new ones..

Photoshop like they did last year or use pictures that players in their new uniforms take when they join a new team

The photos will be updated when all 400 players have been photographed in their new jerseys. Sometime after Media day in a patch.

Yeah except that media day hasn't happened yet. That's when players get photographed in their new jerseys. Only a handful of players have been pictured in their new jerseys. Only elite guys like PG13, Jimmy Buckets, Kyrie, etc. But everyone else will be on media day. And I have a feeling that's when they'll update everyone at once.

For 2K this seems like a huge surprise considering their attention to detail is usually good when it comes to small things like this.

Lol. Yeah. [emoji849] All they did was add the entirety of the CBA to MyLeague, revamp their entire online portion of the game, scan the entire leagues new uniform sets, add a bunch of classic teams and all time teams, scan new players, expand on MyLeague rebranding, revamp their entire movement system and AI defense, change the way shots work, etc. 2K so lazy. If only they had the updated player portraits on day 1 instead of after the NBA Media Day, it would be a much better game.
