Re: Official NBA 2k18 MyLeague/MyGm Thread
Definitely the hard cap. It doesn't actually exist in the NBA proper, but it's in the game to help balance things ... except it doesn't work as intended with the other CBA stuff they added this year.
Turn the hard cap off for any MyLeagues and do 30 team control, it's not as time-consuming as letting the AI run wild and you having to rebalance the league every year to offset stupid AI decisions.Comment

Official NBA 2k18 MyLeague/MyGm Thread
Alright guys, I’ve been an offline My League guy forever, but my friend and I decided to start a My League Online. So here is the question I have: Can someone please explain the contract options in MLO? What settings will produce the most realistic results? Thanks!Check me out: https://goo.gl/N8vDdZComment

Re: Official NBA 2k18 MyLeague/MyGm Thread
Also after Patch 1.04
- CPU Teams still NEVER sign 2-way-Contracts....(when you sim 2 or 3 Years)
- when you waive a 1st Rounder in his first Year all 4 Years of his Contract is stretched....(in Reality Year 3 and 4 must be guaranteed by the Team)
but MyLeague all in all seems to be much more playable after the PatchComment

Can someone explain to me the advanced rotation system this year? I'm so lost on how to set things. Last year was much easierComment

Re: Official NBA 2k18 MyLeague/MyGm Thread
As the Pistons what do you guys think I can get back for Andre Drummond and Reggie Jackson?
I think I'm going to send Jackson to Orlando along with Reggie Bullock and a pick for Elfrid Payton and Terrence Ross. I have no clue what to do with Drummond though.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2k18 MyLeague/MyGm Thread
Anyone else having a hard time signing rookies to their rookie extension?
Super max contracts are confusing as well.
Is there a specific way to use the MLE and all that?
Preparing myself for the opening day rosters so I can start a new my leagueComment

Re: Official NBA 2k18 MyLeague/MyGm Thread
So like I said a few posts up, I've never actually gone ahead and done 30 team control, does anyone know if there's a guide somewhere on exactly how it's done?
I mean, are you literally making every decision for each team, or are you just doing the big stuff like draft picks, major free agents, etc?
Say you have Paul George and Lebron in free agency next year, how do you decide who gets them? Do you just go with the conventional wisdom and send them to LA, or do you go your own way? Obviously, it's up to the individual, but looking for either a guide or a description of what some 30 team control veterans do in these situations.
Thanks!Comment

It’s not perfect, and it takes a bit of discipline, but it’s WAY better than letting the AI kill the balance of the league withing a year.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2k18 MyLeague/MyGm Thread
I have a few questions. I have not started yet but was just going threw some sims to try to figure out some stuff and I was wondering what is a cap hold? Like what does it do? What is the point of it? Also about trying to sign guys I fell like I am missing something. I was running the sims with default settings other then hard cap off because of how it messes up with FA signing yet I couldn't figure out like how to try to even sign good players has it was saying I was over the cap even though it didn't look like it. For example I was at 37.77m below salary cap room in the sim I was just doing and tried to sign a guy for like 30 but it wouldn't let me. What am I missing?Comment

The Cap hold is a placeholder for Players a team is expected to sign, so Free Agents with Bird Rights and 1st-Round-Picks.
So for example: you have 37 Million Cap Space and a Free Agent with 15 Million Cap Hold, that means in reality you have only 22 Million Million Cap Space.
You can renounce the Cap Hold, but then you lose the Bird Rights for your Player.Don´t play video games, play BasketballComment

Your problem in this sceanrio is the Cap Hold.
