Re: Official NBA 2k18 MyLeague/MyGm Thread
There are currently multiple game-breaking bugs ranging from duplicated players over 27 year old highly rated rookies (those two are connected) to the aforementioned 2 bio dollar contracts and 0 dollar contracts for rookies. There are also somehow a bunch of 6 foot Centers and 7 foot PGs population the game within 3 or 4 season of starting it.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2k18 MyLeague/MyGm Thread
I'm running my test ML with the Knicks. I know that there's gonna have to be a patch to address some things. But I'm enjoying myself so far. I hadn't made it to the offseason yet. I ended up trading Melo and Lance Thomas to Houston for Ryan Anderson and Eric Gordon at the deadline because we had one of the worst records in the league. Houston had the best record in the league before and after the trade. I've been playing game one of each round and swimming the rest. Now I'm playing in the WCF with those Rockets against the Warriors.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2k18 MyLeague/MyGm Thread
Has the injury bug returned? After game 2 of MyGM Dragic is out for 6 months & Waiters is out for nearly a month. All in the same game. Players will eventually get 2 billion dollar contracts too? Ahh man. This sounds like early on in 2k17 before they released a patch to fix it. I was looking forward to getting a head start into a 82 game season.Comment

Did MyLeague Online get rid of the garbage "keeper" system and actually get a real life offseason this time?

Re: Official NBA 2k18 MyLeague/MyGm Thread
I LOVE that when you get offered a trade you have an option to “stop simulation and review” and that the trade doesn’t disappear, it goes into the “review pending trade” section. That was very needed.
In player profile career stats section, i like that the “games played/started” part has been moved out of the way so we can see the entire pts,reb,ast,stl,blk,to,fg,3pt,ft line, however i think the GS has been moved too far away down the line. It’s too far to scroll for information i reach for regularly. It would be good if it was next to the MPG part. Not a huge deal though.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2k18 MyLeague/MyGm Thread
Still deciding on the Bulls or Bucks. Tough decision for me because I just chose the Bulls for me MyCareer team (seemed more realistic: rebuilding and in dire need of a solid PG, no I dont have faith in Kris Dunn YET.), and I'd like to choose the Bulls again because of the rebuilding factor, but at the same time I'd like to choose MKE because it doesn't seem like the Bucks do well in any ML sims and Greek Freak.. Love using him in 2k and if i can develop his shot, oh my god.... Probably gonna wait on that decision until the 2KGOAT project drops but as of now ill probably play this 2K for at least until halfway into the 2k19 lifespan, so whatever decision I make ill probably run with for awhile..
Yeah, i kinda geekin' about this game right now..PSN / Xbox GT - BLUEnYELLOW28Comment

Re: Official NBA 2k18 MyLeague/MyGm Thread
Got the game downloaded and was eager to do Knicks MyGM. Build around KP and Nitkina. So, team owner sells the team. New owner hires his son as assistant GM. That guy trades Nitkina behind my back for D.Rose. Well, quess I head back to MyLeagueComment

Re: Official NBA 2k18 MyLeague/MyGm Thread
Definitely running with the Pelicans in MyGM this year. The story look nice from what I've seen. I actually wanna get them to Seattle (obviously lol) and I'm not sure what I'll do with Cousins. I really have no ties with anyone on the roster and anyone could go, but I'm not gonna trade away every single player and blow it all up. Sort of wanna build through the draft and get some nice role players through FA and trades.
IN MyLeague I'll likely do a 6-team expansion and make one of them the Sonics and use them while still doing 30(or 36)-team controlComment

Re: Official NBA 2k18 MyLeague/MyGm Thread
I simmed past the first year in myGM as the Wizards.
Two things people may be interested in:
- You do not have to relocate to Seattle
- You cannot use a custom draft class in the first year (story reasons), but you can starting in year 2 (some have asked about this)
Story spoilers:
SpoilerFrom my understanding, whether or not you relocate depends on your responses. The simple answer seems to be:
-Work with the original owner keeps the team in its current city
-Choosing options to keep the new owner likely leads to relocation
Specifically you have a dinner with the original owner and are given the option to tell him about Seattle or not. I told him. It is likely that if you withhold the info it results in relocation, though I suspect 2k still gives you an escape route on that.
The story wasn't bad at all. Aside from a trade that was unbalanced in my favor being forced (traded Tim Frazer for Ty Lawson) I never felt as if I was being railroaded.
I'm actually hoping the story continues a bit. Maybe Bob (new owner)
puts together an expansion bid that goes through, with his son as GM.
That would be cool.
I did not play any games, so I don't know if there is any mode specific commentary, though I fully expect there is.
Also, in case you are curious, brief breakdown of my roster moves (no draft spoilers)
Spoiler
Decided to do a soft rebuild.
Traded Beal and a future first to the Hawks for their 1st and Plumlee.
I don't have the specifics handy, but I should be able to get it for those who are curious on trade logic. Admittedly I am not as knowledgeable on the NBA as I am the NFL, so I don't really know if a Beal for 3rd overall is fair.
During the draft I packaged Otto Porter and my 16th pick to the 76ers for their 7th. Think the 76ers had to throw in a player to make the money work.
Again, I can get specifics if anyone wants it
Free Agency:
LeBron accepted his player option to remain with Cleveland (booo!)Durant declined his option and entered free agency, as did Carmelo. Everyone else accepted their option
I made multiple salary dump trades which may be cheese, again I don't know.
For example I traded Gortat for what I believe was a '20 and '22 2nd round picks. Traded Plumlee for a single 2nd round pick.
After my trades I wound up with over $35 million in cap room.
To the surprise of no one, I signed the following 3 players:
Some dude named Kevin Durant. Apparently he is good (96ovr) but like I said, I don't follow the NBA
The Wizard legend Javale McGee!! (gotta say it in Shaq voice)
And Deron Williams
Drafted a SG and C.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2k18 MyLeague/MyGm Thread
Even though I like story elements in general (if implemented well) I'm still not sure MyGM is a good fit for incorporating that.Last edited by MacD; 09-16-2017, 08:19 AM.Comment
