I am starting to get frustrated by CPU playing way too tight on my players. It makes it super easy for me to drive to the rim without any effort , just sprint past them and you have a lay-up or a guy is open if help defender comes...

Can you fix that with any slider ? I don't think so....

I play on HOF so it's not about difficulty but the sliders I have are default

They have to address it because they play stupidly close to non-shooters or average shooters and below-par offensive players. It's like a gift to play that close to them, you can blow by them easily.

By the way I got the revenge game against the Celtics, winning by 15+ in TD Garden lol. Kyrie's heave was still on my mind going into that game

The CPU always over-commits on the close out, too, thus allowing for an easy drive and a layup or dunk if the help doesn't come. Even when the CPU sags off and doesn't over-commit, I can sometimes still blow by the defender because he will often give me the baseline unimpeded and just watch my player go past him for a reverse layup. If the help does come, I can kick it out for a 3 point attempt or another drive, or otherwise just move the ball around the perimeter and find the open man or do a pick and roll. If all else fails, I pass it to a big and work in the low post.

This has become the backbone of my freestyle offense in 2K18. This dribble-drive motion style offense works against every single team, because the CPU is so ineffective at taking away the drive this year.

My biggest frustration remains the CPU's defensive rotations and strategy. They stay glued to shooters on penetration far too often. I get so many open layups in the halfcourt set because of this. I can't take a realistic number of threes because you can't get open looks if the CPU doesn't rotate to free up various players.

This is doubly annoying since I play Porzingis at the 5 so he's typically matched up against slower 5s. I run high post stuff for him or he has the ball beyond the arc, the defender gets right up in my grill and I easily drive past him for a dunk 9 times out of 10 because the CPU never rotates.

My PnRs/2-man game feel like I'm actually playing 2v2. If it's a solid screen and my PG turns the corner it's a dunk. On rare occasion when the opposing big helps on the ballhandler, Porzingis gets a wide open three. There is never help from a tertiary defender. Drives me crazy.

Here are a few clips. Am I the only person seeing this? I don't see anyone else mentioning it. This is all game, every game. I've been on Pro, All Star and now on default Superstar. I can shoot 75% from the field if I wanted to keep cheesing.

That's certainly odd, as the CPU does rotate on pick and rolls in my game. I use a HOF slider set, though, so try playing on HOF and seeing if that helps. Even when I tried default HOF a few days ago, I wasn't getting free layups off of PnRs every time down.

Wooooooooow...I have NEVER seen this in my gameplay on ps4, since 2k18 released I played first 2 games on all-star default, next 2 games on Superstar default, and been playing on hof default every since and I have not seen anything even close to this, rotations were horrible last year on nba 2k17 but this year I have been pleasantly surprised by the cpu's ability to rotate and help on the weak side. What console are you playing on??

I'm on Xbone. I started my MyLeague shortly after release so maybe something got screwed up with all the patches. I'll try an exhibition game and a test a new MyLeague tonight.

Like you said, try a game or 2 outside of your myleague and see how it goes. Let me know if you see any difference, and try on hof default.

Playing offline vs. cpu and it seems a bit tougher (IN A GOOD WAY) to drive the lane, played 2 games and seeing alot less clipping on drives to the baskets and the cpu is getting more bumps instead of me just blowing by them with ease...I hope this continues, I don't want suction defense to return but a bump here and there is exactly what this game has been missing, 2k18 you are officially my favorite 2k of all time!

Did 2K mess with the in-arena sounds? The commentary and menu music is fine, and other games and tv shows are fine, but the in-arena sounds in 2K are really staticy through my TV.

Just sharing...
Been grinding MYPLAYER, a playmaking slasher 87 rating at PRO level, and I'm dominating on every game. Scoring 70-80pts per game, posterizing left and right, thus boring me to sleep and felt like I'm not playing ball anymore. I decided to play on HOF, defense got tight, pushing me to move the ball around. Ppg lowered to 50+, but balanced my stats because now, I have double figures in assists and rebounds. Even have a lob finisher badge because of the ball movement. I say HOF teach us not to cheese the game, HOF wants us to play basketball.

I still believe it's quite easy to drive to the rim in this game as they commit too much to the ball handler. The natural flow of the game, the fluidity of the gameplay makes 2K18 an amazing game for me as well. Movement is amazing in this game. I also love the lay-ups. Depending on your timing you can make or break an a lay-up, in the past it was automatic but now nearly completely manual

Playing an exhibition game fixed the issue. It realigned/reset something, I noticed immediately. What a strange issue - I've seen it in EA's football games but never in 2K.

The first MyLeague game I played after doing this was great. I went a little overboard and shot 44 threes since I had so many open ones. 31 team assists. The game is fun again.
