I'm not saying it should hit 100% of the time. And I'm definitely not one to cheat the game. Look at what I'm saying as a whole. You can be draped all over the computer with a highly contested shot and they have a average shooter. You can have a good release and wide open with a great shooter and can't hit anything. It's a good game. Just unbalanced.

Re: NBA 2k18 Impressions Thread
I think gameplay wise this game is a big jump in the right direction. It flows so much closer to how basketball really does. It's more messy, there is a lot of quick reads to make, it's more unpredictable, I really like how it is actually rewarding to move the ball, get the defense on their hills and attack close outs.
Although when the CPU starts double teaming and trapping the p'n'r the game becomes too easy.
I've bumped the diffuculty to superstar, and played two matchups with the Tunder, one against the Spurs and one against the Clippers. The Spurs smothered me, which was especially apparent when trying to go against Kwahi with Paul George. On the other hand, in the second matchup George managed to get hot early, largely because of Gallinari getting lost on defense, or stopped by screens etc.Comment

Nice to see big men using their full arsenal in the post up game, played a game against the Pelicans on HOF and Big Cuz and The Brow gave me the business and I loved every second of it!! Lol...ACE kicked in and started to double them in the post and guards started to dig on the dribble but even ACE couldn't save me 😆...GREAT JOB 2K, you have my full attention!SIM is a MINDSET...Don't cheat the game and you'll get better results ~Koosa10:27~Comment

While we plead (to no avail) for art changes... live 18 already updated player likenesses for a bunch of people, including beard less Kyrie and buzzcut Iman shumpert. They did that even without live fans clamoring for he changes... in this regard, props to EA and live, and WTF 2K

Anyways, my point is the effort put forth by live. It's preseason, they probably knew judging from recent pics that Kyrie was gonna grow his beard back, etc. But they still modded him for the sake of being updated. They didn't need to do it but for the sake of representative integrity, they did. For the enjoyment of live fans who are outnumbered by 2k players probably 10:1. That's effort. and if live can do it, can't 2k also? THAT is my point

Nah man... you think live "followed" Kyrie, Iman and all them players just to update their likenesses? No. They digitally modified them. Like what 2k did with preexisting cyber faces of Wiggins, Kawhi, etc. that they added beards to.

and even if they change their hair which is most likely in the game already they can just copy it to the other player.
mods can do this then why dont they?? or at least give as a way to do it if hey cannot update all.Comment

Re: NBA 2k18 Impressions Thread
Few observations:
1) More difficult to find a camera angle I like this year. Broadcast low, why the heck is it so zoomed in for free throws? Yes I have key zoom on, but it's excessive for FT's. Broadcast zoom takes way too long at times to zoom back in after you cross half court.
2) I think the CPU offensive AI has actually taken a step back from last year. Team offenses are too similar at times, and star players aren't being emphasized enough. Last year, stars played like they do IRL and got tons of touches. Playing vs the Cavs, and LeBron just isn't touching the ball nearly enough. I feel like they put focus on off ball movements in CPU freelances, off ball screens etc., Lots of action, but teams are sort of blending together to me slightly. Not enough plain old isos for stars and things like that.
3) I'm fairly certain it's impossible for the CPU to throw a bad pass. Almost so also for the user. Lowering the pass accuracy slider doesnt affect any pass except for alley oops. I've lowered it almost all the way & I haven't seen a single errant pass by the CPU besides on alley attempts.
4) The legacy issues of no charges taken and no defensive 3 seconds ever are still extremely prevalent. Increasing tendencies works for some issues (alley oops- still not enough of these until you increase throw and receive alley), but it appears to do nothing for charges taken. I guess this isn't a high priority issue for 2K unfortunately.
5) Free throw forms have been largely neglected again. There's one they assign to countless players that looks nothing like their actual motion. It was that way last year also.
6) Jump balls look... Weird.
7) They touted the loose ball system, I'm not really seeing much of that.
8) CPU defensively is a mixed bag. Double team logic is much improved, but you still see things like Kyle Korver guarding James Harden. This shouldn't ever happen.
9) There aren't nearly, nearly enough shooting fouls on jumpshots. I haven't seen a single one on a three and just a handful on mid range. It needs to be ramped up fairly significantly.
Overall I'm a little disappointed this year, I think they had some real positives last year that they overtweaked (CPU offense mainly, camera options, other things) and other legacy issues were not addressed. I think continued slider adjustments will help, but I'm not sure I'm going to have as much fun with it in the long run as 17.

4. I've seen a charge or two called in each of my last 10 games. Defensive 3 seconds is definitely called as well.
6. I agree with, it's almost like it's a delay and my player is trying to jump out of quick sand.
7. Lower hands and increase hustle you'll see the loose ball system at work.
9. I partially agree with I've only seen one on a 3pt shot and only a couple on mid range, this definitely needs to be increased a bit.
Up the alley oop success slider I've seen the CPU throw alleys every game with the throw alley tendency at 50.
For the star players isolation and teams playing alike I suggest punching in van' s Playbooks.Horseshoes & HollyWoodComment
