I think it's ridiculous that you have green releases that bounce on the rim, up on the backboard and then go in and then you have terrible high contest releases that bounce 3 times on the rim and then fall off. It also seems every half court shot hits the rim somehow.
Green releases should be perfect releases and nothing but net for the most part and if someone does a terrible shots there should be air balls left and right.

Early on my only issues (vs the cpu) were with non shooters taking and making 3's with confidence (players with D and F grades). I had Kidd-Gilchrist go 4 for 7 against me when he only TOOK 9 three's for the entire year last year making 1.

My other issue was with centers getting too many rebounds. Too many 20 plus rebound games.

Both of these issues get magnified when the cpu is in catch up mode.

Despite calling timeouts and switching coverages etc, when the cpu decides to start hitting 3's they seem to get a speed boost, pass accuracy boost, and a shooting accuracy boost. Your cpu teammates forget how to defend and leave players wide open or get stonewalled on screens.

On the rebounding end, during cpu catch up mode, even when you make the adjustment to crash the defensive boards it doesn't matter. Played the weak rebounding Celtics and Al Horford gets 6 offensive rebounds in the first 4 minutes of the 3rd qtr against a good rebounding OKC with Adams boxing out. Horford averages 6.8 rebounds a game. But in catch up mode he can get six offensive rebounds in 4 minutes. The cpu decided it was going quickly erase my 12 point halftime lead.

Seems now that there were some under the hood adjustments and now shooting percentages are way up for me and the cpu. Small sample size and I hope it's not the case because shooting percentages were pretty good.

I believe this game needs to be rebuilt from scratch. Like go back to day one, even if they had to do what the other game did, & just take a whole year off to fix EVERYTHING. Every year I feel 2k is masking a broken game with more & more issues. They make little tweaks here & there to make the game seem a tad bit better, but it's not where it's destined to be. The movement is a lot better than before but it doesn't mean that it is great. It never was, atleast for a long time it hasn't. There is still a feel of restriction & forced movements that defies the game of basketball. I still don't feel FREE when I'm moving. When driving to the basket, I feel like I'm stuck in one direction. There's alterations in step & direction in real basketball. I should be able to run in circles repeatedly dribbling a basketball, why can't I do it in 2k? My player's back is turned away from the basket/defender in many instances and it's frustrating. The game isn't "animation-free" as promised either. I hope others can relate because I'd hope no one would settle for less in anything that requires money to come out your pockets. Please fix this game inside & out. Hoping for the best.

Game feels more repetitive and less responsive each and every year. It is time for an entirely new gameplay engine

^^^ and don't get me wrong, gameplay is really good. Especially with slider adjustments. Just saying, it doesn't feel leaps and bounds different or better than any other 2k I've played on this generation. It's time for a fresh experience. They've reached their peak with this particular gameplay engine

2k never said the game was animation free, no game can claim that, every movement on the screen is a animation.

That's correct, mistakenly, that's not what I meant.

Well, let's read this gameplay blog before 2K18 was released.

                        Spoiler

"To put it simply, movement is no longer driven by animations in NBA 2K18"

I think the best thing is the flow you can generate on offense. You can dribble drive and kick out, get buy defenders closing out, kick to the corner again. It just feels more open.

I wish 2K would work on getting the percentages correct on open shots vs contested ones vs smothered. It's much too black and white. I know curry is curry, but it's still silly to see the man hit every open shot then hit the front of the rim when a defender gets in the area.

These players are not gods! they don't make anywhere near every open look. I'd say a good shooter depending on what kind of season he's having shoots about 38-50 percent on open looks (6 feet open), and a normal contested shot (2-4 feet closest defender) it drops at most 10 percent, which is a lot in basketball, but that would mean he's hitting them at a mid 30 percent clip. That's on the low side but 35 percent of anything is very noticeable. I just feel like 2K never gets this right. I don't know weather they're trying to keep casuals happy, or if they just don't care. Lol! I care!

Here's the numbers for anyone who cares
