This is a game breaking bug. I think it's the biggest bug that affects gameplay right now. There is no way they didn't know about this. Think of all the devs playing the game and calling time outs and then observing the frame rate drop. I guess they didn't have enough time to fix it?

I really hope this is the first thing they patch. But their priority is probably fixing my player missing bug since people are actually spending more $$ in that mode and it receives the most attention. I reached out on twitter to 2ksupport and Mike Wang with regards to the time out frame rate issue. Also raised a support ticket too. I just want to know if it's fixable and if so what's the ETA.

it's almost unplayable. so inconsistent. annoying as hell.

Yea. I'm wondering how this even passed QA. I think we should keep the issue on the front burner here on the forums. Also keep reaching out to the appropriate contacts on twitter etc. If I hear anything at all I will certainly post back here with an update.

Also experiencing this framerate drop issue. It happens usually when your ball handler goes inside the paint with bunch of other players.

As a workaround, I tried turning off the sound (Commentator, In game sojnds, etc) and somehow, it helps.
Also, I turn off the Controller Speaker option.

You guys should jump into a 2KU scrimmage. Gameplay is phenomenal (I'm sure how it is programmed to play)

- Offball movemet is better
- Dribbling is better
- Shot timing works perfect
- You can actually win a jump ball tip lol

Lol.. Great minds think alike [emoji109].. The gameplay is absolutely superb in scrimmage mode. Between that and practice play mode, I've been in 2k heavan learning the new game mechanics while labbing. You can even lab freelances in scrimmage mode as well. In the mean time this framerate issue needs to be priority number one for 2k in the upcoming patch.

im on the original ps4.. can you imagine how bad the lag is with this glitch

this really needs to be fixed man i cannot play with these dropped frame rates at all.

it definitely is the timeout problem.

in the proving grounds when you first make your player there are no timeouts so its no problem

in the the park there are not timeouts so its no problem

if the ball goes out of bounds in park and you get that whistle you might get a little frame drop but its nothing compared to an actual timeout in 5v5 modes where it becomes unbearable

however when you play anything 5v5 quick match, pro-am, mycareer anything with 5v5 and a timeout is blown the game becomes laggy and the frame rate dropping goes crazy + your player feels like its playing in gravity.

I played 3 games last night during the sunday night football game. I dont know if its because it was non peak time for servers or what, but it was smooth throughout, with or without timeouts being called. I tried this in PNO and MLO, and it was smooth. The only two variables that changed was that I switched my camera to and from broadcast low to zoom. I hope this isnt a placebo or a fluke, but the framerate glitch seems to have been greatly alleviated. Did 2k put out a stealth patch? Anyone seeing this issue be almost non existant, atleast in comparison to the launch day, when it was terrible!

I played last night, sametime and got the glitch in the 2nd quarter when the guy called a timeout.

I'm in reg PS4. Use broadcast zoom camera.

Hmm..I'm on xb1. Hopefully more people can chime in. It might have been playing during non peak server stress time last night. I knew the glitch was gone because previously during FT attempts, the framerate would get so bad, but I didnt see it at all last night. I cant wait to get home to try again today when the kids are on mypark stressing the servers after school smh lol.

The exact same thing happened with me last night, 2 straight games of no stutters... but it came back a couple of games later....not as bad, but definitely still present...

Hmmmmmm....

Maybe it's a server thing and not a bug ??

Maybe it will just clean itself up once everything settles down...

Still would go with it being a bug being that theres traces of it offline...whatever it is I hope they fix it...

I hope it gets fixed. A solution that has worked for me is I now play with my mic and I tell my opponent to put timeouts on manual because it will fix the framerate bug. And at about a 90% success rate they usually do turn it to manual. Which makes the game run so much more smooth. Whenever timeouts are both set to manual, the game runs smooth.
