Leaves layups alone. It's sad I am worried each passing day that 2K will give in and start making changes. Makes me somewhat miss the days games just what they was when released.

dont leave layups alone at least not for some archetypes. you should not blow that many layups in a game when you're 6'10+ feet tall, with a super high layup rating. assuming you're not 2 years old and its not your first time playing 2k and you're not going up against a bunch of defenders in the paint. you should make a huge majority of those layups alone. stop with the silly blown layups when wide open.

Man, So many kids flipping out because this isn't last year.

Lay ups line up with realistic percentages? If so, no change necessary. People needs to learn to adapt and adjust. It seems like the field is pretty evenly split this year. The guys who care about fun, simulation style gameplay are actually making noise to keep the game good this year.

There's been a couple posted. The difference is that it's a once every couple games thing, not a once every other possession thing

I agree. I don't think that people understand that even the LeBron's, AD's and even Shaq of the NBA only make around 70-80% of their layups. Hell, being a Celtic fan who lives in Lousiana the two teams that I watch the most are the Celtics and the Pel's and I don't even want to get started on some of their player's layup percentages *cough Marcus *cough Smart

As far as open layups, I don't think I've missed one yet in 8-10 games. I'm not sure what guys are doing to miss them.... maybe it's a MyPlayer thing or something because in PNO my percentages are the best they've ever been out of the box.

The open misses are not as often as people are acting like. I had Zubac blow an open lay in...after fighting through Dwight Howard to catch an out of position pass. Did it suck, yeah. Did I lash out about it? No. Doesn't happen enough to be huge.

All archetypes should be left the same.

Is being good at the layup as simple as getting to the rim? There’s rarely a distinction made between a player’s ability to get in layup range versus his ability to actually sink it.

Top this year (old article so it was 2012-13 season numbers) was lebron at 70% and avg was 58%. People need to stop asking to make the game easier when its only been out one week.

So if you're rated 90/100 on 3's you should make 90% of 3's?

                            90/100 = 90% on mid-range jumpers?

I hate to break it to you, but being rated a "90/100" doesn't mean you get to make 90% of your shots.

                              Go to "FreeStyle"

                              Select your player

Now line him up facing the goal at the top of the key push the left stick forward, "CLOSE YOUR EYES" Now just push forward on the right stick, the instant you feel the vibration let go of the right stick. Do this for a good 5 minutes now try it with your eyes open, just remember it's a "FEEL" thing.
Wow. Im just in freestyle mode practising my shooting. Ive turned off the shot meter and operating off feel, and its much easier.

Layup release timing feels more intuitive to me this year. I generally don't understand all the reports of missed layups. I missed more layups last year
