Or do you hold down L2 the whole time? Is the command sequence for this...
    1. Hold down L2 to Post Up.
    2. Rotate RS from 12 o'clock counterclockwise to 6 o'clock for Post Drive, while holding down L2.
    3. Press LS to Left and tap Shoot to start Post Hop, then hold down and release Shoot to take the Post Hop shot.

I found it a lot easier to combo stuff out of the post spin moves, especially Spin Gather jumpshots. Somehow, the requirement this year that it be done with holding down Turbo has made it harder to combo into.
I'm not holding the L2 Button version. You can see there is a pause in the animation. Because I notice I'm about to get cut off by the defender.

Okay, thanks for the clarification. I'll have to sit down and do some real practice. In general I probably need to resign myself to practicing more and give up on the idea that I'll get used to the new controls in gameplay.

(Stuff like adding Turbo to the Spin Gather, and requiring LS be neutral for Shimmy post shots has been messing with me.)

The quick spin move way too powerful, it's working way to often, easily beating the defender with that simple move and resulting in a simple layup or dunk. Biggest money play for me. All this is offline btw.

            For you Pro-Am post gods.....

            My 2 money moves

            1. Catch in the post and immediately let go of l2 to disengage, from triple threat give a few jab steps by pressing the right stick in whichever direction you want to fake to, and drive to whichever side he's not shading and then STOP. He will jump 100% of the time, then simply lay it in with the opposite hand when he is midway down from his jump. If he gets a flying block animation, just dunk it.

#2 Get into post position with your player facing towards the key. If he isn't already, just press the right stick down to change direction. Next, do a spin, with the right stick, towards the paint (the direction your facing). As soon as your shoulder hits his chest go back into post up and fade over the opposite shoulder. This will get you open 9/10 times

fade 2 is the best fade animation because it gives you a clean quick fade animation over both shoulders... none of the slow one-legged faders. Hop Shot 10 is good as well because it creates the most space. A good dunk package to use as well is reverses off one... it's really effective to get a quick dunk out of a post spin or face up drive.

The last tip is if you get a guard switched onto you and you don't want to risk being stripped, just simply back him all the way down and then hold L2 + R2 while pointing both sticks at the basket and you will turn around and yam on him if you have posterizer at any level.

Rudy Gay is a quality jumpshot as well if you need to find a consistent one

I'm ok with how I play in the post to be honest. I make some, I miss some but I'll score enough that I'm happy. My problem is the CPU post player's. It's tough to get players, especially legends , to play accurately.
