Re: MyPlayer Dunks are now easier, will gameplay keep changing?

Honestly I think the speed is a decent trade off for guards bit being able to dunk as often. I was sick of pgs doing standing dunks last year

If 2k keeps doing this..they might as well just make mobile games..that's where micro transations really took off and ripping people off.

I buy a game,I want the whole game...no one should have an advantage on anyone put of the box.. unless they're using pure basketball intelligence and pure skills..to beat someone.

Let's be realistic isn't that the whole idea of online? The gratification of beating an opponent. ..or making a great my team. ...buy if you can simply BUY a good player.. why bother grinding? I feel their anger...we've supported 2k for about 2 decades now,and get thrown under the bus.

The thing is I LOVE THIS GAME an truly believe it's the best one they have ever made ... they rushed last year with the early release and it showed because there were literally almost what 20 patches an 10 tuning updates? They had a full year this time and the gameplay is fantastic from a SIM pov ... I'll miss a lay up and actually smile while most people who post here seem to be tearing their hair out over it.. I think that's why thsee threads begging the devs not to touch it are popping up while last year there were die hard loyal customers who said they would never buy it again

I truly love this game too. .almost feels too good...but I'm not starting my career yet..

I played 2 games before my dog got sick..and the game was good..many misses.. with layups. .open 3s etc etc but the foundation was there.

Now today having good news, I finally played again. .and it's a completely different game than what I played last Thursday.

I mean that in a GOOD way,but I cannot believe how much can change in a week.

        What will next week be?

How could you check without it being maxed first? Make sense. If they didn't want you to dunk, why not just put the bars down like they did sharpshooters. Why create false hope?

Yall are not gonna get free copy of 2k trying to be their sheep. If your guy is good cool but a lot of us are dealing with all kinds of glitches with this game. Stop acting like this game is perfect

I don't play on Pro, I also play HOF 5v5...I had a glitched MyPlayer, 6'4" Shot Creator/Slasher...used VC had an 83 driving dunk...couldn't dunk...at ALL...could kill it in shootaround tho...made a SG same exact build, height etc...no attribute upgrades...was catching BODIES. It was an actual glitch (maybe just with PGs??)...I have had NO problem with the gameplay other than buying dunk packages for a MyPlayer glitched out who wouldn't even attempt a dunk (other than alley oops that weren't glitched I was cramming those)...patch seems to have helped. Still very toned down vs 2K17 as far as I can tell, but I like that.

Re: MyPlayer Dunks are now easier, will gameplay keep changing?

I feel like some of you guys' reasoning for hating these patches are ridiculous. Been playing 2K for a while and knowing a little about programming, you can tell they don't really finish their games. Some of these patches are necessary. Being a "true sim head" doesn't mean people complaining about the game's issues aren't or don't have good basketball IQ like someone said earlier. It's actually quite the opposite as people who really know basketball see stuff that doesn't make sense and want things to be fixed.

As much as people try to hail 2K as this great sim basketball, it's really not. Mainly for 2 reasons: one, you can't sim difficulty. The moment you add even just one difficulty to the game, it is no longer so. How do you sim pro, all star, superstar, and hall of fame difficulties and get a sim experience? You don't. Any difficulty automatically skews a real life simulated outcome, especially when those difficulties change the sliders in the game to make it more challenging. True sim would mean no difficulty at all.

Two, and most aggravating, is that 2K games do game breaking things to give the appearance of sim stats. I'm particularly talking about how the CPU can always dribble through traffic and not lose the ball because of clipping (ball and player going thru other players' bodies), always know where the rebound is, and can get ball back immediately after losing it. Atl the while, you can't do the same. Physics in 2K games are never consistent and patches are needed to fix what should've been done right the first time.

There's no reason why guards at 6'5" can't dunk with sufficient attributes. There's no reason why the CPU can randomly run up to you, slightly touch or bump you, and force a turnover without even attempting to steal the ball on the first place. There's no reason why they've nerfed jumpshots the way they have in recent games. I remember having a 99 midrange rating with boosts and 99 offensive consistency and still couldn't make a shot consistently when wide open. While the CPU on the other hand....

You guys aren't the only ones with an eye for how the game is played in real life. Many of us are and still find flaws that need addressing. Starting to realize that 2K is made by guys who don't really play ball and they don't really test their games, using us as beta testers to find the flaws in the game they rushed out to sell to meet a deadline.

I swear. I'm seeing how 2K is making so much money as people will defend the game vehemently and act like they have so much more knowledge of basketball in general to justify everything about it.

Actually, the people who don't know anything about basketball besides what they see on SportsCenter are the ones who make 2K their money. People like me know NBA players don't hit 100% of their open shots....

Never said that I wanted every shot you go in. Just want balance and my ratings and attributes actually mean something on a consistent basis.

Right.... It's clearly me when you consistently get near perfect shots on wide open attempts with a Durant jumpshot. Alongside me and a host of other players who've expressed the same thing. Ok lol that logic is sound....

Ummm because it's a popular play in basketball, showing off your athleticism, and most importantly, it's hard to block or stop without fouling so you can get your points either way. All two pointers are not the same. I really wish I didn't have to explain that....
