No, I always create a character that kind of fits the narrative. Model him after another player, but give them their own unique name and story. I'm too old to be creating my self in games anymore. I stopped creating myself in my teens. I like the player to be able to fit into the universe around them.
Do you guys make yourself as your 2k myPlayer?

Re: Do you guys make yourself as your 2k myPlayer?
I usually recreate a former player from my old NCAA 2K8 seasons. I'm that nerd that recorded all of my players collegiate statistics after every year. So I have a solid pool of players to pull from. Every year a new 2K comes out I create a different player. My greatest College Hoops 2K PG ever: Cannon Morrison
6'8 220 Point Guard Ovr rating 62
College: The Citadel 2009-12
Career PPG 12.4, RPG 6.9, APG 11.2 (1521 asts)
89 career dbl dbls, 21 career triple doubles

I create myself with a face scan and then when I get into the story and hear the voice... I'm like, "This doesn't match AT ALL."#LFC

Re: Do you guys make yourself as your 2k myPlayer?
I recreate myself in my primeonly idealized. 15 years and 100 lbs ago I was a 190lb 6'6 SG with above average shooting. I walked on to college team and played Div 1 ball for a year but I was unathletic from getting wrecked by cancer and on academic scholarship and hated running and rarely got off the bench before i wrecked my ankle lol

Re: Do you guys make yourself as your 2k myPlayer?
Never. I don't really get a kick out of playing as myself in games. I see the MC mode with the story elements as more of a campaign mode than anything. I do try to create a name that kind of fits with whatever crazy nickname they have, though. In 2K16 I named the character Freddie something because his nickname was Freq. In 2K17 I named the character Alberto Perez because he was usually referred to as "Prez." I think I named the guy this year Darrell Johnson because of "DJ." I hadn't played this year much though because I honestly have no clue where to go half the time to trigger the story cutscenes and ML is crazy fun.Comment

Re: Do you guys make yourself as your 2k myPlayer?
I always Facescan and create myself, but this year without the face sculpter it’s been difficult, last year having a few filter effects was cool 2 like if ur scan turned out dark u could lighten ur face and stuff so it was a lot easierComment

Yes, but more playstyle than appearance.
I don't bother with face scan and don't spend that much time customizing my appearance.
Generic white dude with blond hair sums it up.Comment

Myself, trying to re-live the glory days. However, unlike 2k17, I cringe when my guy speaks, in career mode.Last edited by tox64; 09-24-2017, 01:29 PM.Comment

Re: Do you guys make yourself as your 2k myPlayer?
I been creating myself since 2k10. I think up until 2k15 I went by my listed height of 6'1 then transition to my real height of 6'0 and play the 2 guard position.

Re: Do you guys make yourself as your 2k myPlayer?
I would recommend projecting yourself into the NBA; if you're 6'3" irl you don't necessarily have to make a 6'3" player (that's not what I mean by project). I assume most people who play this game have played/play basketball irl; I find it hard to stick with a player I based on an NBA player or some weird gimmick, and you really have to be frugal with VC this year, so making a new player after you already sunk some time/VC into another is bad.
I usually find out what kind of player to make through playing some park games, and just seeing how I mesh with other people. It's a bit more personal when you make a player based on yourself as well, with less of a propensity to restart.
Do you guys usually make multiple players or just one?Comment
