Any ideas on a oladipo trade? Is love to send him anywhere. Just don't enjoy playing with him. But it's hard to move him

I honestly don't see him having much value unless he shows something early in Indiana. I'd suggest best bet early in the season would be having Indiana have to take on a bad contract to get rid of him and then also get either a "take a flyer" young guy who's done nothing yet (and isn't a highly touted lottery pick type) or a late 1st round pick (at least top 15 protected and from an automatic playoff team so that it would probably be 20-30).

nothing. Simmons is untouchable. The Sixers would have to get something like Westbrook and George straight up, with both guys signing extensions to even consider trading Simmons. And the Hawks have nothing the Sixers would want beyond trading about 6 unprotected 1st rounders.

I think it depends on the morale if you will. I know the morale system is highly questionable in 2k but that and contracts are the key factor. NY knew they couldn't bring Carmelo back without a major chemistry issue and distractions. They wanted to avoid taking on long term obligations (Ryan Anderson being the hang up with Houston).

As far as two other blockbusters, I'd argue Chicago got too little for Butler (not sold on LaVine as an all star type player with his D and possible issues lingering from the knee long term). But again who knows how divisive Butler was going to be (the Bulls apparently had an idea) especially with him figuring Wade was taking a buyout as well.

And the Paul George trade? I think Indiana got a terrible deal. Even if the plan was to move him before the season to give the receiving a team a full year and a chance to convince him LA wasn't the only option there still had to had to be more out there than Sabonis and Oladipo. Pacers must like Oladipo a LOT more than everyone else. And Sabonis for that matter who showed himself to be nothing more than a end of the rotation guy in his 1st season. That may change, it may not.

But all three trades show how much contract factors and chemistry can impact what a team will take, and also how much a team may "like" someone (like Indiana did).

IRL the Knicks absolutely would not take the Anderson contract. That was the hold up on a Houston deal

As a Pistons fan I see it. I'd take a flyer on Exum over Muddiay or Baldwin. One of the issues with 2k vs. real life is you pretty much know someone's potential ceiling and based on ratings Baldwin simply isn't going to get there on 2k.

The problem with Jackson is until he shows his knee is ok, some explosiveness, etc. his trade value is almost nothing. The Pistons front office is actually kicking themselves for turning down deals for Derrick Rose or Ricky Rubio last year because if nothing else it got his contract off the books.

As for Drummond, he has some value (and a ton more in 2k than IRL) but IRL he has to come out this year and show some energy and effort every night to raise his trade value. In 2K however you can get a ton for Drummond. Probably an unprotected first (or may top 3 protected), a solid starter and a 2nd rounder would be my guess, maybe more. Reason being is that in the simulations I've done for myleague (not starting until opening day rosters) Drummond consistently averages 16/13 and has won a ton of defensive POY awards. He simply plays up to his potential in 2k as opposed to reality (at this point).

Hmm okay I like it! Yeah I figured Baldwin wouldn't do much but I've liked him as a player since Vanderbilt so I was gonna try to make him something haha. Maybe I'll try to trade Jackson to some obviously tanking team for a couple seconds or something. Or ride him out as a high priced backup till he's on an expiring deal. Drummon should do me well. Make up for jacksons value. I'll be looking to start it soon!

Yeah I figure. It's just that seems like a better alternative than gutting most of the roster to get the salaries to match. But Houston obviously wouldn't go for that haha

As the Pistons I'm looking to move Reggie Jackson and land Elfrid Payton. I need a bit of help matching value and contracts. Should I just look for a third team?

I was able to get it to work by trading Jackson for Payton and Terrance Ross, or Jackson for Payton Augustine and Hezonja. I would think the Magic would go for Jackson and a protected first (Top 10 maybe) for Payton and a 2nd

                        Pistons receive:
                        (PG)Elfrid Payton, (SF)Terrence Ross

                        Magic receive:
                        (PG)Reggie Jackson, (SF)Reggie Bullock, 2018 Lottery Protected 1st

                        Is that fair value?

I'm biased because I could never have Payton on my team. I have an irrational hatred of the guy just for his bizarre clown hair.

But yeah it's not bad. Ross offers up some bench scoring (although he clogs Stanley Johnson's spot in a "put up or shut up" year for SJ).

Lol I love his playmaking and defensive potential. I plan on moving Tobias Harris to the 4 and starting Stan.

What kind of package could E'Twan Moore, Ajinca and my 2018 1st fetch for New Orleans? That's about $13.5M in salary and I'd like to land a SF who will likely start and a backup big who is more athletic than Ajica (as insurance for AD and Boogie). The 1st may or may not be that great. I'm currently 6-2 so I'm playing pretty well but obviously a lot can change in 82 games.

It's still super early but some teams are already looking really bad like the Knicks, Bulls, Suns and Mavs. I was thinking something like the following:

                              NY - Thomas and O'Quinn
CHI - Robin Lopez and Denzel Valentine or Mirotic and Portis. I like Zipser as well but I think Portis is the most expendable of the three younger players I mentioned.
                              PHX - Dudley and Len
DAL - Dallas in the Worst team in the West, however there's not really a good match there. The only way to make a deal is if I include Asik in the above package for Wes Matthews and Salah Mejri but when with Matthews' bad contact I'm still not sure they would want to take on Asik

I hate to give up a 1st for any of those deals but it may be necessary to improve our team since we don't have a lot of moveable pieces.

Out of those options, I think I'd take Chicago -- Lopez and Valentine for Moore, Ajinca, and the 2018 1st.

I don't see Phoenix moving on from Len or J-Dud -- Len because of how high the organization took him and J-Dud for his veteran presence (and the fact he actually loves it there).

Dallas is out for the reasons you mentioned.

The Knicks I *might* consider, but it really doesn't help New York much and even the 2018 1st seems like a lateral move at best. If New York is going to engage in any trades, it'll be to move on from Lee or Noah I think.

The Bulls trade I like for a few reasons:

                                1. Lopez is not a fit for a rebuilding squad, which Chicago clearly is.

                                2. Moore previously played for the Bulls, which is something the organization likes -- they tend to reacquire players that used to play for them (Hinrich being the notable example).

                                3. The pick, though likely not to be high, is an asset that the Bulls organization could use.

As to why Valentine over Portis or Zipster -- I feel Chicago has a better use for Portis long-term than Valentine. I think Portis has the highest upside of their pre-2017 draft picks -- I do agree he's more expendable than the players you mentioned, but I feel Chicago could flip him later for something else. The optics of losing two bigs in one trade (an a young one at that) doesn't look good and the organization is suffering a lot in the PR department.

Valentine could be that starting 3 you want, and he'll develop down the line.

                                My thoughts.
                                Any comments are welcome.
