It's bad design, poorly communicated, and a buggy mess.

They got slightly better each year with making us wait around less, but they've gone backwards. Too many loading screens and running around instead of actually playing games. And then the bugs just add on to making it a poor experience.

Hope they go to a more minimal design in the future, though I highly doubt it.

With 2k I'm always weary that half the game will have bugs and issues so I never put time in anything but play now until patch 17.775 comes out.

Because I'm grounded in reality. "Broken and unplayable" is such a cliche term on this forum. Oh, the contracts are not right, the mode is broken. Oh, we can't earn VC, the mode is broken. Oh, we can see the number to our ratings, the mode is broken. Oh, we can't hit 100% of our open shots, the mode is broken. Oh, we can't block shots or play defense with non-defensive player, the mode is broken. Oh, we have mirror matches in PNO, the mode is broken. Oh, the rosters are not update, the mode is broken. Oh, I played "perfect D" and the shot went it, the mode is broken. Oh, we can't skip the cutscenes, the mode is broken. Oh, Jordan doesn't look like Jordan, the mode is broken.

Christ...when 2K does something unpopular or not well received (i.e. OTF menus in 2K17), it's "broken or unplayable". I can fire up my 2K18 right now, and I can access and play EVERY mode possible in the game. Period. I don't own a "broken" game. I own a game with some glitches (like ALL videos games) and inconveniences, but it's FAR from "broken". They'll patch it and life goes on.

And THAT'S how a game improves. Developers don't know if consumers will like something until they try it. Also, Developers don't know how something will work until it is in the hands of consumers. Hence, no shot aiming and OTF pie menus this year.

Personally, I'm not a fan of the Neighborhood myself, but they were basically trying to appease the people who were whining about having to go through the story mode to upgrade their players. 2K Sports gave people additional options, and people are up in arms.

And I've been seeing the same bitching for years....the bitching has been ruining this game since NBA 2K15. NBA 2K18 is solid game, and it should be in everyone's library this season. I've been playing this game non-stop, and even deleted all my other multiplayer games, because I know that I'm not coming back for a while.

Then give us a demo if they want us to test things out.

Remember when they used to do that too?

They could have done this without The Neighborhood (Having to go through story mode to upgrade)

The Neighborhood does nothing to enhance the user's experience whatsoever. I called this out before the game ever came out and I was slammed for it. It should never have been thought of as a good idea to have to load it up, jog to a store, and jog back to your place to try on new clothing/accessories.

They didn't give additional options. They just made everything more of a pain.

Then good for you. Why are you on here so much if you love it that much? Wouldn't you just not care and be playing the game.

Obviously they can't since 2K went after them. Likely threatened to blacklist them unless they made changes.

Wouldn't the same question apply to yourself?

I'm not even being fecetious here...I'm just wondering why someone like yourself who hasn't enjoyed the game in years, hasnt purchased it (unless you've changed your mind) would even entertain any of this.

I ask that of any of you in the same boat...I'm genuinely curious.

Because I know the developers come to this website frequently, and I want to make sure the whiners and crybabies don't get their way this year when it comes to gameplay changes. The gameplay is solid as hell, and some of you need to LEARN how to play the game instead of asking 2K Sports to dumb it down like they have been doing since NBA 2K15.

Yes, they need to fix the glitches and bugs, but I'll be damned if I let people complain about this game like it's the worse NBA 2K ever. If anything, if YOU don't like the game, sell it, and move on. I don't see how people can spend so much energy on something they don't like or hate...I'm not a fan of NBA Live, but you don't see me in their forums trashing their game at every opportunity, do you?

Honest response: Because Tapatalk allows for quick easy access to this board and easy response to debate with others on topics. It's a good way to distract yourself at work. I'm a passionate NBA gamer/fan, die hard 2K player from about 2k9-13, so I'll obviously be awaiting a hopeful return to my favorite past franchise. I did buy 14 (awesome next gen graphics at the time), 15 and 16...a bit too irritated with 15 and 16 I bought 17 used, and have played 18 for a few hours and plan to buy that used as well to not support their current greedy ways. 16-18 will be the first times I don't put strenuous hours into the game at launch because I'm not happy with the company, or in love with the product/game itself much anymore. I'll still play it now and then, for online competition but with all the issues everywhere it's just too frustrating and depressing to put much time in.

I'll still argue, if you are loving the game that much, I wouldn't even come on here to debate anything..I'd be playing the game or not letting anyone tell me otherwise. That's just me though. Right now I borderline hate the way this company has gone which is why I'm here to voice my reasoning in hope they rebuild some integrity.
