I know I'm late to the party but I had to ask this.

I bought 2k22 on switch not long ago and my controller settings wouldn't save. The game has been out for a long time so I was shocked it hadn't been fixed yet but being it was the Switch maybe patch support was an afterthought like a lot of of other games on that platform.

I was looking for a solution on the internet and ran in to a thread on Reddit that a couple users had narrowed the problem down to the internet provider they were using. That made zero sense to me. Why would an internet provider have anything to do with controller settings not saving? They were pretty convinced and adamant about it being the problem in that thread but no one could explain it. I thought it was nonsense to be honest.

So fast forward a few weeks and I head up to my summer place for the weekend and my controller settings saved every time. EVERY TIME. I get home Monday and fire up my switch and the settings had reverted back to default. My internet at my cabin is a different provider. WTF?

So either that's a massive coincidence or the internet provider theory is legit. My mind is kind of blown and I simply can't wrap my head around why that would possibly be.

I would absolutely love any insight from anyone who knows anything about why that might be so maybe I can fix this on my home network.

It's been years that i've been having a lot of different problems with the similar issues, i've had a numerous posts about how not online but offline game/gameplay is HIGHLY affected by your ISP connection to 2k servers which i've been suffering for years since the PS4 era has started that is since 2k has started to collect our in game data 24/7 so that every move every input everything you do in the game have been collected by the server so that if the connection is not a good between 2k servers and your ISP then you get different problems along the way which i believe this settings not being saved or having different problems related to settings or different issues FE i've had numerous problems in which the game i couldn't even move my joystick on the menus just stuck for a while and more. So that is probably right and correct that your connection 2k server affects you and your settings don't get applied on the 2k server cache, which technically ofcourse i don't know how and why.

I also have problems in MLO mode in which i simulate some games and they don't get simulated every once in a while as if the server doesn't accept eventhough i see in game it's started simulating yet no results been made so.

A lot of other issues i can name... I wish we would go back to PS3 era when 2k didn't bother getting your data 24/7.

EDIT: I may give you a fix for you to try on which is again very odd as the problem itself when you think about it. Change your settings and get to play now mode and let the game play on DEMO mode until the end of the demo game then have a look at it. Or the opposite open the game get to the DEMO mode wait until demo game is over and change your settings.

I've been checking my controller settings before every game for like 8 years. This is a long standing issue.

Back home I was using xfinity and never had any controller setting problems, whereas now I'm on optimum and i have to fix the controller settings every 5 or so games.

For 2k19, J noticed that the settings saved once the servers were no longer online (yes, I still play 2k19). So it makes me wonder if it’s tied to being connected to the servers..

The next time I turn on all the game I have to go into the settings all over again to put them all back. I think it’s just somehow going to defaults.

It’s quite obnoxious. The main game settings and sliders don’t seem affected by the glitch

Yep. I've been hard crashed starting a neighborhood game before so I relaunch application and try a park game only to find my meter is on and all my controller settings reset.

It's to the point I check everything EVERY. TIME. I load up this game. Even check my settings going from court to court.
