I'm going to keep it 100%. I know that I'm more aggressive than normal, because I felt that this game was great out of the box in 2K16 and 2K17; however, I feel that 2K Sports catering to the MyPlayer crowd caused the game to be patched into hot garbage. My apologies if I came off as a Defender (which I'm lowkey am in some respects).

I feel that NBA 2K18 is another great game out of the box, ESPECIALLY with the new game engine. I'm not saying it's perfect by no means, but I definitely want 2K Sports to leave the gameplay alone as much as possible. Due to the new game engine, I've playing much more ProAm and Park this year. It just AMAZES how many people really don't know how to play true basketball, and it's really about hero basketball. I don't trip too much about Park, because it's The Park. ProAm...naw, some dudes need to learn to keep the streetball garbage in the Park and know their role in a team concept.

It's all good. I understand. After all the huffing and puffing I do here, I go play 2K, be happy and mad at the same time, come back here to huff and puff some more. The cycle repeats itself lol. I love it, too.

Superstar default sliders has ball security for cpu on 50 and user on 30 ..there is your problem .
That there makes users lose the ball quicker while cpu has it on a string dribbling through bodies and not losing the ball.
Adjust those sliders and you'll see a healthy change.
I have it on 40 both user cpu . 2k out the box sliders never were satisfying

If only sliders could be changed in my career. [emoji30]

They do this alot in the park, it's not real defense.

They run up to the ball hand and just stand there and the ball pops out.

As a Playmaking PG, I love it. They come flying at me to try and bump the ball out and I pass straight to the open guy. It's so easy I've got to the point now where I do nothing but flashy passes just to try and show them how dumb it is.

Yeah, I'm on XB1, lol.

I created the PG, because it's interesting how many people are getting killed by the PG in ProAm. Logically, being a defending/passing PG makes sense. There are soooooooooooooo many slashers/finishers/athletic/3PT players, there's no way you CAN'T average 15 assists a game in ProAM. Also, I'm a strong believer in stopping the point of attack which is normally the PG. Lastly, you get other players involved, they're more than likely to stay engaged for the entire game. I got pissed off when game, because my teammates keep jacking up 3's instead of feeding me for mismatch. I'm a willing passer, but let me eat what I kill every now and then, lol.

Add me Tony Two Steps.

I've got a couple of good guys and some that I play with just to play.
I'd like to have nothing but guys that I know understand basketball.

At least we get happy now, lol. For me with 2K17, I got mad every time I played it. It's a wonder that I didn't died from high blood pressure.

I'm glad lol...nothing I love more than watching a cheeser get smoked--still the issue is those contact fouls HAVE TO GET CALLED. We can't take a chance someone BETTER than you will be able to do it at a high rate and get an excessive amount of steals, that it'll limit gameplay too much (imagine if you could do it to post players with the post defender) or that a savvy user (the guy we really should fear) will only do it at the end of the game when he needs it.

Its gotta go. PERIOD.

Sooo....what the issue? In the prelude the complaint was that the ball would just go through the guy. This one looked like a good play lol

I don't want to be that guy, but we might need another video example. The ball was exposed to the defender. Admittedly, I would have attempted the steal myself in that situation.

EDIT: The steal animation could have been "cleaner", but the ball getting stolen is not a surprise to me.

i think both sides have a point here...there certainly are plenty of passers/ball handlers that try to force the issue or don't time the pass right...if you dribble towards the wing/baseline and there is a 2nd or 3rd defender you need to back out of there or move the ball before you get trapped or swarmed and then lose the ball...on the other hand...stepping in front of the ball handler or pass catcher moments before or moments after they get the ball/make their move should NOT be a viable option on defense...i've literally never seen this happen in ANY form of basketball and if it did happen it would not only be a foul but somebody would likely get injured after every collision....honestly, if somebody attempted to defend that way they'd likely get banned from the game eventually...it's just stupid/dangerous and it's only a viable option because 2k is still just a video game and not real basketball...if they want to keep the animation in the game so offensive players and the ball itself doesn't phase through defenders that's fine...but there should also be 2-3 BLOCKING calls for every 1 steal the defense gets in that situation...it's crap like this that keeps the trolls/cheesers in business

I've always thought the double team should sometimes result in contact or reaching fouls to keep it from getting spammed. That way there's some risk to the reward of potential steals and forcing the ball out of the hands of guys.

Anyone who's played 2K for awhile knows the very dark history of double-teaming. We don't want to reward spam.

Lol NBA 2k7 is a prime example of the double team spam. I should know because I definitely took advantage of it lol. Phoenix Suns was my team in that game.

...does anyone know if Hall of Fame is still programmed to cheat? I know devs said that on here last year or the year before. That could be half the issue here.

You took off straight ahead with a defender directly in the ball hand path. Next time press the off hand direction and towards the rim (diagonally this is up/left), plus turbo. You would've changed hands, launched, and at least got a hip ride.

It sucks because contextually you'd want your guy to recognize that he cannot dribble with the right hand as there's a defender right there, but the issue in this video is you launched INTO the defender. That SHOULD be a turnover.

Edit: Rewatching it, he definitely does run into the ball, but it wasn't a clean launch with the right hand. Definitely should've used a left stick launch to cross to the clear hand
