Re: There appears to be no skill gap ONLINE anymore.

All Ima say is I had my settings on deny and play tight and I just played a guy who’d pass it around the perimeter and when the ball got to the corner he’d shoot no matter what

He made a lot even on play tight and it wasn’t even drive and kick

So yeah I agree the skill gap is leas

I play a very similar build to you and unfortunately it seems like Athletic Finishers are better rebounders than actual rebounder archetypes. Athletic finisher bigs are also far more common because they are nearly unstoppable. Fortunately a lot of them aren't very good so once you learn how to really box them out, get your wings to help you with rebounds and you should be ok.

I play pro-am team almost exclusively and the problems people are complaining about aren't limited to walk-on, they're just worse on walk-on because people don't generally know how to play good team ball. The teams with the highest win % seem to run 3-4 pure sharps and a couple of bigs and just take beyond the arc 3s at 75%.

I think the worst part is some of these times are just ****ing vile, like the "Jim Crow Gorillas."

Ppl don't know your archetype just as you don't know there's which was silly for 2k to not put that on the screen where you see everyone's overall before the game. So until they see you make a few 3s, get a dunk or find the open man it's gonna be a wrap.

If I ever log in and go into walk in by myself when my friends are not on, I don't expect to get a bunch of players with high IQ so I take it in stride and try to win. Just like solo queing in any other video game.

There's been times I've started pro am as a PG and the randoms will let me run point after they see I'll pass. There's been times where I've started and the other team would literally freeze me out from the start because they were playing with each other or they are a squad (you can tell)

Either way if you having trouble with pro am and you only running with 2 ppl, go play park. OR. Make some friends on the game, it's not that hard tbh.
What's crazy frustrating is that if there's a guy at PG who's say a shot creator/sharp, the game will have my SG run point. I assume it's because of my high Playmaking. Then we get turn overs as people try to whip a pass down court to avoid passing to me

I've also been frozen out for being white. No bull. Literally heard it on the mic.

Iv never frozen anyone out for a dumb reason like this. I wait until I realize the dude sucks before I do such a thing but.......

And don’t get upset but from all my years of playing Park, Walk on and etc. It does seem like white dudes are more likely to be notorious ball-hog than others.

I’m not being funny and I’m not joking at all. Iv heard this racism as well but at least in my personal experience it holds true.

But don’t think your crazy or it’s an isolated event because white ppl do get frozen out. Iv been in a couple games where a white dude pulls one bad shot and guys on the mic go OFF on him with stuff like “See this is why I don’t like when white dudes hop on” or “This GD scrub thinks he’s Gordon Hayward omg!”

Others may not tell you their experience because they scared of coming off as racist or silly but I don’t give a crap. Multiple times a year I find myself asking “Jesus what the hell is that white dude doing?” Like it’s different when a dude is just horrible at the game and ball-hogging but when a guy is flat out screwing the team you can tell. And at least from my personal experience it does seem that a good number of the more notorious ball-hogs are white. Take that how you want it but this is coming from a dude with no reason to make stuff up or exaggerate.

I don't take that from a malicious standpoint at all. I figured it was all typical stigma from the obvious racial difference in the league itself. People use silly tropes ala "White Men Can't Jump", and use it to justify stuff in game context in the same way they see curry hit a crazy stepback 3 IRL to justify attempting it in game.

It's silly, but c'est la vie. I end up with a good grade regardless because I'll adapt and get mine eventually.

From experience I've found the guys that hog the ball tend to just be PG archetypes in general. Most made a PG so they always have the ball in career. You can always tell by the types of passes they make when they do pass. Is it out of necessity, or were they looking for it? Tends to be mostly out of necessity.

That being said, I'll have games where I'm flat out "brain neutral". Or the defense just doesn't do what I predicted every time I make a move. Or I just go flat out cold from the field. We all do. But I just want to be involved somehow, I don't need buckets, I showed up for the W, ya know?

One of the most annoying things is if you get sucked into a team that has two point guards. If one of them doesn't get to bring it up enough, they start pouting and screwing the team up on purpose.

Nah my Pro Am Record is above .500 and I play with randoms all the time. I also run point lol & if I get the ball I'll make plays for others and pass. And if I don't the other guys are either A) a squad and are running together or have been for few games so I just play my part or B)they are trash and start hogging.

And idk I really have never heard anybody being frozen out for their race, I freeze ppl out who are trash lol. But I have 2 guys I play with 1 of whom is on my park squad & he's white lol. And our record is almost .700 at park in over 300 games.

I tried the random thing with part but the fact that 2k shows your record I was like nah I'm good. So if I want live action I just run Pro Am with randoms if my guys not on.

Anyway. If you on PS4 with a big or a big guard that can play SF or P (I'm 6'7, my 2 friends are 6'8' SG and a 6'10 SF) hit me up

Oh, I don't have my console anymore, I'll have to get another.

But I either played the 2 or 3 when I played with those randoms.

Everybody likes using a point, so I went with something different. The only video I have is from 2k16.

But when I did play, I wouldn't turn my mic on. I only really turned my mic on when I played with my friend.

2K has in ways I never expected destroyed some of the faith I had in humanity.

The amount of guys who are ignorant is one thing. I'm one of those guys, I'll miss a pass or make a bad play because I grew up playing Football.

It's the guys who ball hog, take bad shots, demand the ball. Just disgusting teammates who are willing to destroy an experience for 4 other people for their own reasons.

I wonder if they are like that in their everyday lives. Consciously or subconsciously.

Nope. I see a similar thread pop up every couple months on reddit, complete with guys saying they get more touches when they make a character who's the opposite race. Ridiculous.

I always like to throw the random the ball first to see what they do. You can tell real quick if a guy is going to work out by what he attempts first time he touches it.
