Got 2 questions if anyone can help with:

1. Does anyone have any adjustments I should make on game plan to get more quality production out of my bench on player lock when my player is out of the game?

I seem to keep the game competitive til my 3rd qtr to 4th qtr rest, then I have an insurmountable deficit when I re-enter the game.

2. I understand the system proficiency (a little) with the kind players I have but should I change coaches that better suits my future talent?

2a. And how do you know what system a potential coach uses if making a switch?

i read this thread an now i'm really interested in starting a mygm with player lock, since mycareer became an endless grind

I'm new to this, so could you give me some tips to start it off?

- how exactly do i set this up? where do i set the player lock?

- how can i create my own player, get him to the team i want to play with and "lock" him?

- do you recommend any slider setups?

- is this mode possible with 2 players at one console? i mean like i "lock" the PF and my partner with the second controller plays the PG, is this possible?

- any other tipps or links for me to get into this mode?

You might want to look at tendencies for your created player to ensure you're getting enough touches under the freelance setting. I was having the same issue when I first started this year then throttled my touches to 90 and I'm now basically splitting the offensive load with Giannis perfectly. Don't know what to tell you about coaches and system proficiency.

Got a annoying issue.
Play with a created player,I put him in the draft,editing the draft class when starting the game,player gets drafted etc and I take controll of that team (controlling all 30 teams if traded etc)
Here's my issue.
No matter which rosters I use,they are all screwed up when starting the myleague,Kyrie back in Cavs,Isaiah in Bos,melon in NY etc.
Why?
It's like it's last seasons rosters,doesn't matter which ones I use,I check em before starting the whole process.
Is it because I edit the draft class?
I've followed all the steps on how to do this,think there was a guide posted by one of you guys.
Any help?

Did you select "Start in offseason"? If so, that's the problem. Starting in the offseason more or less undoes all of the offseason roster moves like trades and free agency.

Don't have the game yet, but I was hoping to get some insight on how things are working in myleague..?

What I like to do is to create my own player to the draft and see what team picks me the next year. Then I'll take control of just that team and set all the other teams to "auto"
When I get subbed out I switch to Sim cast lite.

Finally got my hands on 2k18. It was on sale 50%.

I took a different approach to my original plan to get drafted by any team without my input.

I wanted to rebuild the Lakers by drafting my created player (PF 74ovr) and signing Boogie in the offseason.

Simulated the first year and my Lakers finished last in the accociasion. I was awarded with the second overall pick in the draft.
During the first year I got rid off of Deng's huge contract for Frye and Shumpert. Tho I had to give up Randle to make the deal work.

Before I got to pick my guy, the Sixers suggested a trade for the 2nd pick. They wanted to give me JOEL EMBIID!!! (Second thoughts after giving him the big contract???Injury concerns??)
Well I re-negotiated the trade to add their 24th pick and my 1st round pick for the next years draft.

There were no quarantees I would get Boogie to sign with me in the off-season. So I gambled on my original plan to draft myself as
the number 2 pick.

To my surprise my player was still available at the 24th pick. So the gamble paid off.
Also signed Jefferson in the off-season.

I'm planning to play every tenth game of the full season and simulate the rest until playoffs.

My starting five:
Embiid, myplayer, Ingram, Caldwell-Pope and Lonzo
The bench:
Al Jefferson, Nance.Jr, Kuzma, Shumpert and Clarkson

Let's see if we're gonna finally make the playoffs. At least the fan interest is over 85% at the start of the season.
Using HOF/custom Shady Mike's sliders.

You guys should consider creating a rival as well. Adds another avenue to develop storylines for ourselves as well as the rival.

Personally, I created a rival that played on the same college team as my player lock. Two generational talents but really dislike each other ( think Shaq and Kobe ). It's given me some fun moments, like when the rival goes to the finals three straight years and wins one while my player lock is getting consistently bounced out the first round ( if he even makes it ).

You guys should look into it, and let me know what you think.

Also, i'm curious to know what are you guys' stats like. I would like to average 15-19ppg.

I'm not exactly sure if you can player lock in myGM, but a lot of us just do it in myLeague. When setting up a Myleague, I control all 30 teams and have some of the CPU decisions on Auto so there is some randomness to the league, but I can make changes if I want

When I play player lock I turn auto plays on from the coaching setting menu, that way you don't dominate the ball as a guard and the team plays a bit of an offense. It helps with spacing a fair bit of the time.

There are two ways to set up playerlock, the first is when you press options and go to controller settings, you can LOCK to a position (pg/sg/sf/pf/C) the only problem with this is if you want to control Lebron all game he can only play SF. The other way is in Myleague settings, where you can lock to a certain player.

I think you can do it from within Myleague, but I normal do it from the main menu of the game and go down to settings ->create a player. Once you have created a player or two, you then add them to a roster, save that roster and use it when you create the myleague. If you look on page 6 I posted the way I created my players.

You both can lock to a position each, using the controller settings. One of you can also lock to a player using, which can be access in the myleague settings menu (from memory)

NBA 2k18 Official Player Lock Thread

Just had one of the best games in my 2K lifetime (I’ve been playing a long time).

Player lock created point guard for the Suns, matched up with Warriors in round one of course. 5 game series down 2-0 right out the gates, these dudes are unstoppable on Hall of Fame. Trust my teammates in game 3, Booker leads us to a win, go off in game 4 and force game 5.

Close back and forth game in the first half, sub out in the third down one and comeback down 13, thanks 2K.

Not discouraged, I rattle off a 16-2 run to take a one point lead with 5 minutes to go. Trading bucket after bucket, Josh Jackson grows up right before my eyes, drilling corner threes. We somehow lock in on defense and get some timely buckets and stops and pull out the road win to advance to round two where the Pelicans await.

Wish there was a way to remove the ring underneath your guy and the stamina bar, etc.

Also wish you could turn off all the stat overlays, I like from time to time to just turn off the announcers and go full on court and crowd noise.

Id let the cpu do it, when I do player lock I often just set most all options to be managed by cpu..
