Why should I have to control all teams to get it to work though? That to me just points to how broken the mode is that I have to babysit the ai to get a proper myleague going... And you can't do that in mygm so that makes it even more broken

You don't have to, I was just offering solutions. I only play MyLeague so can't speak for other modes. I honestly feel people take for granted the options you are given with this game. No game will ever be perfect too much complex coding involved.

I use ACE, so I don't have to micromanage everything on the court. Personally, I think I do a good job of working within the ACE changes, so I never seen ACE as a "problem". I only make changes during timeouts and on the fly.

Seriously? I’m pretty confident that anyone will notice Paul George, Kevin Durant, Isaiah Thomas and other high rated players just sitting in free agency at the beginning of the season.

Casual players aren’t stupid, even they know how the NBA offseason works...

And you wouldn’t have given it a second thought? So just screw realism and throw that out the window?

We all just love Paul George signing a one year deal with the suns

Or Kevin Durant signing and meager one year deal with the Pacers.

I think casuals and die hards would take huge notice to that.

It’s okay to enjoy the game and still realize major flaws.

That wasn't the question. As a casual, I see myself going "Oh! Paul George is in free agency! Who can I get rid off to get him?", versus "Paul George signed for only one year? That's some BS!".

That was my point..... personally, I think that would be more fun, because more players are available to be picked up from free agency. If it was like real life, that would be boring to me honestly.

Enlighten us. Clearly, I just explained how I use it, and it seems to work for me just fine. My copy of 2K18 is no different from anyone else's.

Looks like they didn't fix the Pro am team issue where you cant play with each other if one user is in a different time zone.

Yay now all my Nikes are free!!

Too bad I can't equip ANY of my custom colorway Nikes now in my closet. They're all sitting right there on my shelf in my loft. But not in my closet.

So...basically this patch broke more than it fixed.

So you’re saying they purposely messed up free agency to appeal to casuals? I don’t think so.

Free agency was perfectly fine before this patch. I highly doubt they said, “hey, let’s mess this up and flub up free agency so casuals can sign Paul George for a 2 million dollar contract!”


Also, maximize profits and sales? This game has absolutely no problem turning a profit. Most casuals are in the park and my career, anyway. So I don’t buy that argument for a second

What in the world does playing out games vs simming them have to do with free agency during the OFF-SEASON?

I mean come on, what? You can play 10 games or all 82, you’ll still get the same messed up results in free agency. You’re just grasping for straws now.

I swear, I hate patches.


2k Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee separate your game for offline & online players. Your fixing one thing and then destroying another. Why cant you see this. Every year with this tragedy. Omg dudes do yourself a favor, if your on the PC grab your 2k18 ex file for safe keeping. Always do this just in case the patch messes up your offline gameplay experience. So far its working for me.


I really think needs legal action done about this patching games every year. This is not cool because at the end of all the patches the game we purchased is a completely different game. Its not fair and its not cool. Tell me why for since 2008 I always felt the demo played better than the full purchased game....

I'm trying to understand how you figured out how the patch didn't address or broke the free agency situation so quickly. In my mind, you play the games, and the results be what they be. I take little stock in people who sim 2-4 seasons, don't like the outcome, then complain that the mode is broke.

First of all, I never said the mode was “broken”

Second of all, I always sim most of my season games, because I don’t have time to play a full 82 game season.

Third of all, if something isn’t working right, that was working before, something needs to be said.

There is NO excuse for free agency to be operating the way it is right now, when it was working just fine before the patch.

Stop trying to make excuses, stop trying to tell me I’m saying the game is “broken”

Free agency is no longer working like it was, point blank period. There is no excuse in the world you can give me for the reasoning behind this.

Something in the patch messed up free agency. I’m not about to sweep it under the rug and pretend nothing is wrong, that’s how things don’t get fixed. Give me a serious break here.
