Why is shooting so hard in 2k18 and 2k17...?

I don’t play switch or PS4 so I’m only talking about Xbox

I try to shoot only good shots. Even tho I have a sharp if I see a contest coming, and know I can’t get it off without it being wide open or lightly contested I don’t shoot. So I don’t want people to think I be going in dudes faces. Just wanted to describe my shot selection

I say that to say that shooting is damn near broken. If I played 100% of my pro am games with dudes I know I’d be averaging like 20-25 on 70% shooting. I think people make mistakes by constantly switching releases all year and having a HORRIBLE shot selection. Iv seen dudes that can really shoot that thing only shoot around 45% because they think they can hit ANYTHING because they are a sharp.

If you can’t shoot in 2017 or 2018 you are most likely to blame. Some of you guys have a new release every day, don’t know what a good set of shots is, and some guys don’t even work to get truely open they just expect teammates to hit them. Iv seen so many sharps shoot contested 3s in this game it’s hilarious.

Step one pick and release and stick with it, step two have an elite shot selection and step three avoid contested shots. Yeah I pass or drive out of a lot of contested shots I can probably make but stuff like that takes a guy who could be shooting 70% from the field to a guy shooting 55-60%.

Funny part is I get ALOT of assists and layups from pump faking out of contested 3s.

Now if we’re talking offline and play now or MyLeague I think at the end of the day the percentages do even out. You aren’t going to hit 70% in those modes and YOI SHOULDN’T EXPECT TO

No, take solid shots, that are uncontested. Make sure you're wide open off a catch and shoot. Don't dribble into your shot, that's a bad shot.

He means take GOOD shots. Actual quality shots.

I'm playing real FG% and there is definitely something that is in the CPU's favor.

CPU is hitting bad shots with players with low ratings.

Why can't 2K just let 50/50 sliders mean that human and CPU are equal?

If that's what he's talking about he doesn't know what im trying to say. Ik how to play a sharp shooter. I had one since the beginning of 2k17 had all his badges hof and his grand badge and crap. I don't need help with taking good shots. I take good shots all the time don't get mean wrong. And I'm not one of those players who says I have a 99 contested shot meaning I can hit. Ik how to take good shots I'm just trying to state that the shot meter this year is very inaccurate with green lights and it needs to be fixed. Not alot of people like to focus on the way their player releases the ball. The shot meter should be simple. If it's full it's a green light. If you over or under shoot it's a brick ye ik if you time it right Everytime ur not gonna make every three pointer but the amount of times that I and people I have seen play like on YouTube get a full bar and miss is too much. Shot meter is broken this year is all I'm saying.
Thats why I wish we had the shot meter from 2k17 back or something alot different from now or bigger.

Shooting this year definitely isn't hard, but there's something clearly at work park. There are some games where my friends and I simply can't make a jumpshot. We've gone 1 for 15 or worse with sharps and shot creators from outside the paint before. We've never experienced that or anything close pro-am so its hard to understand what's the problem. For that reason, we try to avoid park as much as possible.

                What is your % like?

Its really hard to give feedback on if shooting is too hard/easy without any sort of data. While you might think that shooting is hard, you could possibly be shooting totally realistic numbers

Real FG% doesn't matter in regards to CPU. If you're seeing the CPU making more shots than you think they should, adjust the sliders. That's what they're there for.

Also, the 50/50 sliders do mean the human and CPU are equal in a vacuum, but it doesn't mean that you, as a player, are automatically equal to the CPU. Maybe your defense isn't that great. Maybe the shots you're taking are constantly bad. In my games, I play on Superstar with User Timing and had to move my shooting sliders down and the CPU up to get realistic stats. You honestly can't just expect the sliders to be perfect for you personally out of the box. Some adjusting is going to be needed.

There's really not that much of a difference from this year to 17. I just don't get how there's so many people complaining about shooting.
