Update on 10/25 1:30ct

Just had an update saying to return to main menu at 1:30ct. Does anyone know what’s the details with the update.

This post doesn't say what this update specifically was for, but it's almost certainly not gameplay related. Beluba said there haven't been stealth changes to the gameplay.

Just to put your minds at ease, we haven't been making any stealth changes to gameplay. 99% of the time, those update messages are roster changes (shoes, accessories, injuries, ratings, etc.) Once in a blue moon it's an ACE update. I believe I've tweeted about every change I've made to shooting (of which there were only a couple, layup buff for example.)

There's one more change incoming with Patch 5 that might alter shooting effectiveness (depending on your playstyle.) And that's the over-dribbling shooting fatigue adjustment... aka. anti-zig-zag cheese. The new motion system essentially "broke" our left/right detection so we had to implement it a different way. Hopefully when the patch drops, I have it tuned to where it's only noticeably affecting the actual cheesers, but there's a chance I was too strict and would need to dial the shot penalties back some. After that, shooting will be locked down for the rest of the year.

2k updates various things daily, rotations, tendancies, etc.. nothing to worry about, Mike and the other gameplay producers usually announce if they updated gameplay, there is another patch on the way patch 5 which will have gameplay fixes, notes will probably be released when the patch is.
